Fridaze 059

Happy Friday and happy Fridaze! I skipped one week accidentally (which I'm sure most of you didn't notice), but I'm back again to chat about how my life's been going. Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate let's talk about life for the last time this September.

J goes on the longest travel trip

J travels for work about once a month. He leaves Monday Afternoon and comes early Friday. That's his usual long work travel schedule. For this trip he traveled to Oklahoma City (which is not a direct flight away) for two and a half weeks.

It's been really tough. The last time he's taken a long trip similar to this, he came for the weekend, but he hasn't been able to for this trip. Not only that, but this is the longest trip he's ever taken since we've started dating.

It's finally less than a week til he gets home, and I cannot wait. I miss him a lot, and phone calls and face times are not the same. I applaud all those couples that do long distance for longer periods of time, because so far it's only been a week and 4 days, and it feels like forever.

lots of Stardew Valley

Since J's been gone, I've spent a lot of time playing Stardew Valley. I have always loved this game, but I've been playing this game hardcore in the past week and a half or so. Michelle from Daisybutter told me how to get mods on my game, and it has made my game not only beautiful, but added a whole bunch of new content to the game I love so dearly.

I've been playing solo and a separate file with my siblings. The file with my siblings is the classic game with mods that just change the aesthetic, and the one I'm playing solo is the one with the added maps! It's been super fun, and if you haven't ever played Stardew Valley but love cozy game, I highly recommend.

Dinner with J's mom

Since J's been gone, his mom has been helping me with Luca! Since she was going to stop by my apartment on Thursdays while he's been gone, she's been staying til I get home, so we can have dinner together. The first time it happened, I was a little nervous, because we haven't spent much time alone together. But I honestly had nothing to worry about, I had a great time chatting with her!

I feel extremely lucky that my boyfriend's mom is super nice. I know that's not always the case.

Jamie & Christianna

After rescheduling many times, I hung out with Jamie and Christianna! Christianna was one of Jamie's bridesmaids during her wedding, and we clicked really well. We're both really into similar books, and have that go with the flow, calm, introvert vibe going on.

We met up at a restaurant midway to our houses, and I honestly had such a good time. I was a little anxious, because it was the first time hanging out with them together. They spend so much time together already, so I wasn't sure if I was going to feel left out, but that wasn't the case at all. I felt like they really made sure that I felt included in all the conversations, and I already can't wait til we hang out again.

Getting back into long lost hobbies

Another thing I've been doing since J left has been watercolor painting! I haven't done it in about a year and a half? It was something I really enjoyed doing, and even though I was never great, I felt it super relaxing.

I brought my paints to my apartment, and I'm terrible at it! Much worse than I used to be, but I've been having fun with it. I think I'm going to watch some Youtube videos to try and get better at it. But even if I don't, I don't mind! I'm just genuinely enjoy painting for the fun of it.

can the rain please stop?

The biggest gripe of the last week and a half is the fact that it's been non-stop raining and I hate it! We got 4 days of rain all last weekend leading into the week, and then today (Friday) it's been pouring. It's supposed to rain all weekend, and while I love hanging out at home, lighting a candle, and relaxing, I have a dog and walking him in this rain has been terrible. I'm over it, and just want it to stop, so I can do some cute outdoor fall activities!

lil things:

  • finally finishing A Court of Wings and Ruin. Surprised it may have been my favorite book so far in the series (or tied with ACOMAF)
  • working out multiple times this week and feeling great about it
  • re-watching One Piece, and feeling so comforted by coming back to one of my favorite shows

Posts in September:

Shows/Movies I’ve Watched:

  • One Piece (anime) [Hulu]

Books I’ve Been Reading (Let’s be Goodreads Friends!) (Let’s be StoryGraph Friends!) :

  • Iris Zero 7 by Takana Hotaru
  • The Emperor (Darkverse #3) by RuNyx
  • Happy Place by Emily Henry
  • The Final Offer by Lauren Asher (Dreamland Billionaires #3)
  • A Court of Frost and Starlight (ACOTAR #3.5)
  • Daisy Haites by Jessa Hastings (Magnolia Parks #2)
  • Yes, Chef by Waitlyn Andrews

Well that was the past two weeks in a nutshell. It hasn't been the most eventful, but I tend to take it a bit easier when J's on a trip. Not to mention I hate driving and going out when it's raining. How has the past 2 weeks been for you? Let me know! Have a great weekend xx

I've been playing Stardew Valley a lot too! I'm currently in the autumn season in the game and it's giving me super cozy vibes! I'm loving it!

My older sister just gifted me some watercolors because I was telling her that I wanted to get into painting again. I'm going to try to find some time this weekend to play around with the paints she gave me. ♥

So happy you’re loving Stardew Valley even more now! It’s been a few months since I last checked up on my farm but, now that cosy season is here, I might pop back in to play.

I've added the expanded stardew mod and the riverside village, and it's so fun to have so many new villagers to romance and get to know! Thank you again 🙂 x
