I listened to this book solely on audio, and I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. I really enjoyed the movie when it came out a few years ago. It also helped me create a picture in my mind of what the world should look like. The book is similar to the movie, only better (I know, I know, what else is new?).

The story takes place in a future where there is a virtual reality world called the Oasis, and most people spend as much time as they can in the that world. You can go to school, work your full time job, learn, watch tv, and anything else you can think of in the Oasis. It seems the only reason anyone gets off is to use the bathroom, get regular physical exercise, and eat.

A few years ago, the creator of the Oasis passed away, and left behind a riddle to find a giant prize he left behind. There are three keys and the gates they unlock. Of course, our main character, Wade, is one of the recover the first key. From there it's a race against the clock. While he definitely wants to be the winner, he doesn't necessarily care if he wins. What he does care about is making sure that no one in IOI gets it. They're a corporation that want to take the Oasis and change it to something that would be inaccessible to underprivileged people.

If you love video games, 80's trivia, and scavenger hunts this book is for you. I highly recommend this one. 5⭐s!

Firstly, I want to always say thank you for the ARC! Onto the actual review. I once saw this meme talking about the fact that after you read fantasy, it's a little difficult to take enemies to lovers in a contemporary fiction seriously. And honestly, it's true. To be honest, I wouldn't consider this an enemies to lovers, it's more so a rivals to lovers.

This story follows Nami & Jae Lee. Nami life has taken a turn for the worst. Her fiancé has broken up their engagement and her tech company is about to lose their funding. Frustrated with her life she makes a wish on her 30th birthday to find her soulmate. Instead, the universe delivers her Jae Lee. Her high school rival. The popular kid at school who beat her out of being valedictorian.

Even now, after almost 10 years have passed, Jae is still as effortlessly cool and charming as ever. The worst of it? He's planning a hostile take-over of her startup. And again the two go head to head. As time passes, the two realize that maybe things have changed between them.

This was a super cute rom-com. Both characters were super likable, and I couldn't get enough of either POV. I had a lot of fun reading this one. 3.5⭐s

This a beautiful Greek mythology retelling. I grew obsessed with Greek mythology (I even took a course on it in college). And while I knew a lot about Achilles, I had no idea who Patroclus was. To learn about the relationship between these two, and make it a beautifully sad romance, I ate it up. I listened to this on audio, and really enjoyed it! I do feel like there was a lot of fighting, when I wish there was a little bit more going on in the plot, but it was still a fun book to listen to. Now, I want to check out Circe! 3.75 ⭐

Firstly, Happy Easter to those who celebrate🐣! Now onto the actual review. This was my second book by Chelsea. The first was was the novella, Camera Chemistry. I love a well written novella. I think it's so hard to write a well told well developed story in less than 200 pages, but if you do it well, kudos to you! So in Camera Chemistry, you meet the main characters and their best friends, Lacey and Shawn. This story was their love story. This is a fake-dating, Dual-POV, sports romance. Shawn is the coach for a football team and has been really close friends with Lacey since Aidan and Maggie got together (for about 2 years). For one of Shawn's games, Lacey brings a date. When they were doing the Kiss-Cam segment, her date refuses to kiss her. Shawn seeing Lacey's mortification does what any good friend would do, and decides to kiss her himself. And it was a mind blowing kiss, for the both of them! Which leads to them fake dating. She needs a date to her hospital's charity gala and Shawn wants to get his family off of his back. Of course they were already friends before, but when they start spending time alone and getting to know each other on a deeper level, things start to get a bit more serious.

There was no third act breakup, their relationship progressed so naturally, and I loved reading about the anxiety representation. There were also just a lot of really fun things Chelsea added in that made her characters really feel like real people. Overall, I really loved this one, and highly recommend. 4.25⭐s!

This was my book club book for February! This was a great thriller. Loved the writing style, loved that everyone had secrets and made them a suspect. I also really loved the morally gray characters. You didn't entirely know who to root for, because they're pretty much all terrible people in their own way. It was a thriller that read like a drama, which may be why I loved it so much. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't usually read thrillers, but is interested in trying them out! 4.25⭐s

This lovely book was gifted to me last year by my book bestie @front.porch.reads ! I finally got around to it. As I’ve mentioned many times before, it’s best to go in dark with mysteries. This was a super well written, well told story. Was on the edge of my toes the entire time. I did guess some of the plot twists, but it didn’t take away from the story. Highly recommend. 4⭐️s
