best affordable makeup brushes!

It's been a while since I talked anything beauty. The last time I wrote a beauty post was all the way back in October! I'm so obsessed with makeup, and yet I don't talk about it much on here. I decided to change that a bit, and add a bit more beauty posts on my blog. Today, I'm going to talk about my favorite affordable makeup brushes! Let's get right into it.

I've actually talked about these brushes before. If you've been following my blog since the very beginning, you would know that back when I started, I stated that these are my favorite makeup brushes ever.

While that post wasn't especially well written or anything, the statement still holds true. When I originally wrote that post, I only had one set of their brushes, now I have 3. The original set that I wrote about (which is still in perfect condition. Not a single hair has shed.), and then I own another two sets. One that is mainly eye brushes, and the other set is much smaller but the brushes are also great quality.

The original red set is still my favorite out of all of the sets. It has a mix of face and eye brushes, they're so soft, and just work like a dream. This set originally comes out to $40 USD, but I bought them when they were on sale! Right now they're even having a 40% off sitewide, so if you need new makeup brushes, I definitely recommend you check these out!

Not only do they have amazing products, but they're a small business! Like I said before, check them out!

People have been talking about their brushes since the end of time. They have some of the best affordable brushes. This is another brand that tends to be pretty consistent in terms of the quality of the brushes. They don't shed, they blend makeup beautifully, and they pick up product well.

You can typically buy their different sets for $20, but you can always find their brushes for cheap at TJ Maxx or Marshalls!

If you haven't tried their brushes, especially their face base brushes, I suggest you check them out! They're extremely inexpensive and the quality of these brushes are amazing.

I definitely have to make sure to mention their sponges as well. While they are definitely no Beauty Blender Sponge, they're are still super soft, apply makeup beautifully, and a lot less expensive than a Beauty Blender. If you're someone who cannot afford to spend $20 on a makeup sponge, definitely try out this $6 alternative!

Now I actually bought this brush set because a post Laura wrote about them. She used to be a makeup artist, and so I really trusted what she had to say about these brushes.

I had never heard of this brand, and so I was a little skeptical. After using them and washing them for a few weeks, I was blown away. These brushes work amazingly. It's been about a year since I bought them, and to this day this is one of my favorite brush sets.

They were very affordable, and the quality of the brushes was amazing! I think out of all the brushes I own, these look the most Luxe? The shiny black paint on the handle and the rose gold ferrule. I love them. Not only do they work like a dream, but they work amazingly too. Like I said, I only own one set by them, but that one set, I honestly recommend it 100%.

I don't know if Laura's code still works, but if it does you can get 15% off by using the code LauraJane15 !

There are some brush sets that are amazing, but I wouldn't recommend their brand because of inconsistencies with their brushes.

Morphe

I have tried multiple Morphe brush sets, and they're extremely inconsistent. Some brushes are good, but some of them that I own are honestly so terrible! They might be affordable, but a lot of their bristles snap off as you continue to wash them!

I would definitely recommend to buy a better quality brush, even if you spend a few more dollars, because you never know what kind of quality you're going to get with Morphe.

There is one brush set of theirs that I truly recommend, and that's the Morphe X Jeffree Star Brush Set. I am personally a fan of Jeffree Star, and so I hopped on grabbing his brushes. Let me tell you, not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but they are also amazing in terms of quality! They blend well, none of the bristles have broken off or shed, and they pick up product really well. If you are looking specifically towards Morphe brushes, this is the brush set I recommend.

Another product from Morphe that I do think is pretty good is their sponge! The sponge is $8 and is another great alternative as a Beauty Blender Dupe! The sponge is really soft and applies makeup beautifully. The only thing I don't really like is that the red color of the sponge bleeds when you are washing it. It's a pretty good product, and you should check it out!

So these are the brands and brush sets I have to share with you today! What makeup brands/brushes do you use and recommend? Have you ever tried any of the ones that I mentioned? Let me know! I hope if you guys are looking for new makeup brushes, you give some of these brands/brush sets a try! Sending you love, strength, and positivity.

Have you ever tried Elf Brushes? The quality of their brushes has really, really improved in the past couple of years. I prefer them to Real Techniques these days!

I have tried a few elf brushes! I like some, but others I'm not a huge fan of, which is why I didn't put them in this post. I bought some of their brushes last year for new years! You're right their quality has definitely improved a lot. Thanks for reading and commenting V xxx

Morphe's brushes are SO inconsistent! Some of the brushes in the set I bought were great, but others are so scratchy that I never reach for them. It's so bizarre... I definitely need to try Juvia's Place brushes at some point. I remember you recommended them forever ago but I just haven't placed an order since then! I wish they were available in stores in Canada and not just online. Great post!

That's literally that only reason I wouldn't consider them the best. Some of their brushes are very good, but not consistent enough to say you can get all your brushes there!
I understand what you mean, they brought Juvia's Place to Ulta, but they only have their palettes, not their brushes, so I always have to get them online. I hope you do get to try them eventually!

I'm so glad that we have a Morphe store here finally, so I can at least see them in person before buying now. It's tough to tell online!
Hopefully we get Juvias Place in stores here! But I'll try those brushes one day 😄

I'm glad you love Nire. I was really uncertain when I agreed to sampling because I'm quite particular with brushes and I find many brands - the brushes are great at first but then begin to fall apart. But Nire have pretty much stayed the same. xx

Exactly! That's been my experience with some Morphe brushes. They're not consistent at all. Some brushes I own are great, and some are terrible! There are even inconsistencies with brushes that are in the same brush set!
I do love the Nire brushes though 🙂 Thanks for the recommendation girl! x

I haven't had the chance to try Zoeva brushes, I feel like they're not very accessible in the USA! I've heard lots of good things about them, so I definitely have to check them out! Thank you for the recommendation and reading/commenting 🙂 x
