Fridaze 047

Happy Friday and happy Fridaze. It's officially the last Friday in May, and also Memorial Day weekend for those of you in the States. Even though I have a pretty busy weekend ahead of me (especially since it's a long weekend for us, we get Monday off), the past week was pretty uneventful for me. While I did some things, I didn't do too much, which is honestly for the better. Me & J have had non-stop weeks since we moved in, so it was nice to have a slower paced week.

Even though I didn't do too much, let's chat a bit about what I did end up doing!

Yestercades

One of J's friends turned 30 this past weekend, so he invited us to Yestercades for his birthday! Yestercades is a chain vintage arcade. They have pinball machines, arcade machines, and old gaming consoles to play on! He rented out a booth and a room for 2 hours, which was a lot of fun. It was nice catching up with J's friends, and also seeing my friend Amanda (which I have mentioned before, but her boyfriend runs in the same friend circle as J).

These arcades are cool, because instead of paying for coins to play the games, you pay for the time you're there. Before coming here, I've never beat any type of adventure game, but since you get an unlimited amount of lives, I was able to beat my first arcade game fully!

After the arcade we went to an Irish pub around the corner from the place. I had a lot of fun, and I kinda wish that we stayed out later!

Parents Visit

The following day, me and J didn't have any plans. We were just playing games and relaxing, but my parents ended up stopping by at my place. It just felt like my place is finally home. I know I keep saying that, but these lil' moments are what make this place feel more and more like home.

It was a pleasant surprise for sure!

J's Mom Visits

Then earlier this week, J's mom came to visit. We cooked dinner, and all watched the latest episode of Ted Lasso. Not only was this episode extra long, but I'm so sad that next week is supposed to be the series finale!

If you haven't watched Ted Lasso before, I highly recommend it! It's on Apple TV, and if you don't want to pay for another subscription, Apple always has free month offers available, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Long Phone Calls

Earlier this week, I also caught up with my friend Jill. I haven't caught up with her in months, and even though we haven't had the time to hang out with our conflicting schedules, it was really nice to chat. We were on the phone for about 2 hours! She has a trip coming up for the Military soon, so when she gets back we will for sure catch up.

I know some people hate phone calls and face times, but if they come at a moment when you can chat, they're honestly the best.

I actually had another phone call on the way home from work with Amanda last week, and it was also really nice!

Rosacea has gotten better

I haven't always struggled with Rosacea, but it got really bad once I graduated high school. Since then, it's been pretty constant. Sometimes it's worse than others, but it's always there.

Since moving last month, I don't know if it's the water or the fact that my anxiety has been much lower, but it's improved a lot recently!

I've always wanted to cover it with concealer and foundation, because it didn't look like blush, it looked blotchy, but lately, I haven't really even been covering it, I've just been adding blush to the areas that need it, to even it out.

Regardless of the reason, I've been loving it!

Sounds like a great week Melina! We’ve also had a long weekend, since Monday was a Bank Holiday for us in the UK and it’s been hectic. Yestercades sounds like so much fun – I wish we had somewhere like that here, I love retro games.

And, omg, I am HERE for the phone calls. I was never one for phone calls either, but they’re honestly such a great way to chat to a friend and really focus on the conversation in a way that catching up over dinner or out doing something doesn’t capture. Reminds me I should call my best friend soon!

If you ever come close to the NYC area, let me know, because I'd love to show you around!
Yes, I loved them as a kid, but then IM came out and text messages, and I didn't ever want to talk on the phone anymore! I love that I'm reverting back.

It seems like you had a nice week with family and friends! Also, I haven't seen Ted Lasso, but it does look like a fun show.

Ted Lasso is such a feel good, and I highly recommend it! It's only 3 seasons, and short 30 minute episodes. They constantly have offers for a free month of apple TV, so take advantage one day! Thanks for reading and commenting :). Also, sidenote, The memorial day sale for Sims came out, and I got a whole bunch of the expansions you recommended! xx
