Fridaze 037

Can you believe we're in the last month of the year? Less than 30 days til we start 2023. This year has completely flown by. While I'm looking forward to a few busy but fun weekends, I will say I'm ready for the New Year.

The cold has hit us, so it's been all hoodies and winter jackets recently. I don't know what it is about the winter, but I tend to make much less of an effort in the way that I look. I just want to stay cozy and warm 9 times out of 10.

It hasn't been too eventful these past few weeks, but let's chat a bit about it! Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or maybe...a hot chocolate? Here's this week's Fridaze.

Moved into a new bullet journal

It's always a good feeling migrating to a new bullet journal. I know some people start every January, but because of the inconsistency of when I use it, I like to use my bullet journal until are the pages are done, and then move on to a new one! This is my 7th bullet journal?

I've been doing this for a while now, and it's kind of cool to see how my style has changed over the years. Not only that, but it's nice to look back on old notebooks and see how my life's changed.

I don't know what it is about paper recordings about my life, but when I look back on past journal entries or bullet journals, it makes my growth much more obvious.

For the first 8 months of 2022 I had a Papier notebook, then for the following 3 1/2- 4 months I used a Minimalism Art notebook. This time around I'm going to use a bullet journal I bought from Amazon; the brand is called Paperage. So far I like it less than the Minimalism Art ones, but more than the Papier ones!

Renamed Grayson to Luca

Even though I was a huge fan of Grayson/Gray, my boyfriend grew to hate it. And so while watching the movie Luca from Pixar, we ended up with the name Luca. I like the name too! I will say, there will be no more name changes though.

Korean BBQ

For our date night last weekend, me and J went to Korean BBQ! We originally were looking up a new restaurant to try, but when we got to the location we couldn't actually find the restaurant. After driving around for a bit, we gave up, and ended up going to a KBBQ spot. It was a bit pricier than the few I've been to, but the food was excellent. I had such a great time. I think I would go back on a weekday when the prices are a little less expensive.

Christina

Even though I'm in a relationship now, I have been putting extra effort into my friendships! I like to try to see at least one friend a week. Most weeks I succeed. Last week, I hung out with my friend Christina. We went to this Italian restaurant a town over from where I live. It's one of my favorite spots, because they use high quality ingredients, and the place is consistently delicious.

It's always nice catching up with her.

Jill

Then this week, I got to hang out with Jill. After spending so many months being busy and not really in contact with each other, we've been making an effort to either chat on the phone for a bit or hang out at least once every two weeks.

This time around, she came over, and we just chatted for hours.

It's nice feeling like our friendship is back to where it was prior to us being so busy.

3 Books away from my reading goal!

You probably have all noticed that I've been doing a lot of reading recently! I've been trying really had to reach my goal of 85. I had a huge reading rut for most of the year, so I didn't read much until about July or August. Since then I've been reading as much as I can. At the moment I'm only 3 books away from my reading goal! I know I'm 100% going to hit it, so that's exciting. There are so many cute Christmas books, and I want to read them all!

  • My Hero Academia [Crunchyroll]
  • Spy x Family [Crunchyroll]

I can’t believe it’s already the very tail-end of the year – it’s certainly flown by! We’ve had a huge icy bout over in England, below freezing temperatures and six inches of snow here in my little town today. Grateful for my huge puffer coat and Hunter boots!

Not much beats the feeling of a new bullet journal, I agree. I’ve been setting up my new bujo for 2023 and I’m so excited for the new year. Looking forward to using all of my new spreads and fresh trackers too!

It sounds like you’ve had a wonderful fortnight: friendship dates are just as important as date nights. And you’ve squeezed in so much great TV, reading and gaming! I’m hoping to get some more gaming in this week, since my reading spark has completely disappeared lately. Have a lovely week ahead, Melina! x

We got some snow in the northern of my state, but I haven't gotten any snow where I live yet. I have a very strong love/hate relationship with snow, aha. I love it for days where I can have a hot drink and stay at home while watching it. I hate driving it it, and having to clean my car in the morning before work.
      Have a great week xx
