Fridaze 036

Happy Friday everyone! For everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving, I hope you all had a really nice time. For those of you who don't, I hope you're benefitting from Black Friday! The only thing I've bought from the Black Friday Sale was some nail polishes from Lights Lacquer (they have a great sale, 30-70% off, and free shipping over $65!). I also bought some paperback books from Amazon! Other than that, I already have done all of my Christmas shopping, and treated myself along the way, so I didn't really want/need anything else.

I still wanted to chat with you a bit about my past week, so let's get into this Fridaze!

Sofia's Birthday

Last Wednesday was my sister's birthday. Instead of waiting for the weekend, we like to go out for a family dinner. My sister was in the mood for Indian food, so we went to this really delicious spot in Montclair. The place opened up recently, but had a lot really good reviews. I usually have the Tiki Masala, because the taste of the sauce is so yummy, but this time around we ordered food to eat family style! It was fun getting to try to many different items. I will say, Tiki Masala is still my favorite.

Afterwards we had some desserts we bought from a French Bakery, which was also really yummy. When I went to France, while I wasn't wow-ed by the food, the pastries/desserts blew me away! They weren't too sweet and always tasted extremely fresh. Eating some of the stuff we bought took me back to that summer in France.

Friendsgiving

Then, last Saturday, J's friend, Rich, invited us to his Friendsgiving. I really like this friend of his, and my friend Amanda was there! We played beer pong and ate yummy food. I ended up having a really good time.

Adopted Gray

This might be the biggest thing that's happened to me in the past week. Me & J adopted a dog! J has been wanting one for a while, and in the end, we ended up getting one together. I was a little spontaneous, but so worth it. We decided to name him Grayson! My sister thought of the name Gray, but J wanted to give him a full name, and so Grayson it was (even though I'm totally saying it's Grayson cause of The Inheritance Games series). He's such a good puppy, and starting to get the idea of having to do his bathroom business outside! He still has had a few accidents, but he's doing much better.

I've never had this level of responsibility, which is a little stressful, but I'm excited to start this journey! While I've had family dogs, it's different when you can rely on everyone in the house to do their part. Now it only falls on me and J!

Thanksgiving

Yesterday was Thanksgiving, it's a day filled with family, good conversations, and delicious food. We had turkey, pernil, rice, beans, stuffing, salad, empanadas, and endless desserts!

J was supposed to join me and my family during the second half of the day, but unfortunately it didn't work out that way. I can't say I wasn't disappointed and a little hurt, mainly cause it was our first time Thanksgiving together and I had told everyone he was coming. But things happen, and we ended up talking it out. Hopefully we'll spend it together next year.

Sounds like a lovely week, Melina! I didn’t pick up much in the Black Friday sale here – just a few Christmas presents for my family. I always try to be restrained with buying things for myself from September onwards, because of gift season!

Happy birthday to your sister! The restaurant sounds delicious, and Indian food is easily one of my favourite cuisines.

Grayson is SO adorable! Congratulations to you and J – puppy parenting is a huge chapter 😉 x

Thank you! He's been a handful and definitely a huge adjustment, but he's so worth it. xx
