I'm sorry I didn't make a post this Tuesday, I'm still trying to find that balance I was talking about last week. I felt completely overwhelmed and burnt out this past week. I took it completely easy and have done absolutely nothing productive (except workout). That's not to say that the past weekend I had was not full of activities, because it was! And this weekend coming up will be just as full. I know that after this weekend, I have to 100% take it easy.

Doing a daily push-up challenge

I started this about three weeks ago. I don't know how it came up exactly, but I decided to do five pushups. Well, actually I was going to try to do 20, but could only do five! So I did five baby pushups for three days, then did five regular pushups for the other four. Then went up to 10 pushups for a week. Now I'm at 15 pushups a day! I don't know if it's really making a huge difference, but I feel a soreness in my core area, and they've gotten a lot easier to do!

I can do about 5-8 pushups in a row, and then have to slow down for the other half. But I get them all done! I'm pretty proud of myself for keeping up with it, and who knows, maybe I'll get actual results. I do feel a bit stronger, which I like!

The Maine concert

Now, this was probably one of the highlights of my weekend! I've been a huge fan of The Maine since I was a freshman in high school. Even though I loved their music, I never had seen them in person! A few months back, I saw they were going to be preforming, and I bought the tickets for $25.

They were preforming at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, and they were amazing. Not only did I have a great time, but so did J. They were so great, that I know I will 100% see them again sometime in the future!

Erika's Birthday Brunch

The day after the concert, I went to one of my best friend's belated birthday brunch! The place was a little far, but the food was delicious. The highlight of the meal was for sure between the grilled octopus and the cinnamon munchin bites with a dark chocolate dipping sauce! They also had these cute lil' brunch drink flight, and all the drinks were super tasty.

I also really liked the fact that it was kind of small and intimate. It was a group of 6 of us, and I honestly had such a great time!

My Sister Adopts Bear

After brunch, me and J went to go and visit Sofia because she adopted a dog! His name is Bear, and he's honestly the cutest! He's a little hyper, and will definitely need some training, but I can tell that he's a good dog.

We ended up playing some Mario Party (which I lost horribly at), but I had such a good time just hanging out and chilling!

Emo Night

Saturday was a super long day, because after brunch & visiting my sister, me and J went to an Emo Night with a cover band! It was fun hanging out with Amanda & David, but I honestly could have done without it. I was so exhausted from our weekend, that I was ready to go home after hanging out with Sofia and Bear!

We ended up leaving around midnight, but I had a good time nonetheless.

Lunch with Joe's Family

Thank god we kept it a lot chiller on Sunday. We went to the mall quickly to get a rental suit figured out, and then went to lunch with his family. It was a good time. I was a lot less nervous this time around! We went to Chilis, which out of the food franchises, it's one of the better ones. I'm a sucker for their chips with salsa!

Shows/Movies I’ve Watched:

  • Sword Art Online Season 1 episodes 13-15 [Netflix]
  • Scrubs Season 1 episodes 1-6 [Amazon Video]

Books I’ve Been Reading:

  • Deconstructed by Liz Talley
  • Anything You Do Say by Gillian McAllister
  • How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories (The Folk of the Air #3.5) by Holly Black

Games I've Been Playing:

  • Stardew Valley [Switch]
  • Mario Party Superstars [Switch]
  • Kirby and the Forgotten Land [Switch]

A super busy weekend, and I'm already exhausted thinking about the weekend that's to come! Next weekend, I blocked off the weekend to myself to do absolutely nothing. I need to recharge and just rest up! How has your week been? Let me know! As always, thanks for reading, sending you love, strength, and positivity xx

Good for you, taking good care of yourself and being busy living life!!!
I am loving the centre photo in the images above featuring six of you,
all looking fashiontastic standing near the bottom of the stairs!
My week was not nearly as busy as yours,
although I did get a Covid booster injection and my tax returns are almost completed.
Other than that I'm working on another recap of old fashion posts (and on being a couch potato).
Best wishes for this full weekend!
