Fridaze 025

I wasn't expecting to not blog for a few weeks, but you know how life just gets ahead of us sometimes. I wanted to come back a lot sooner, but I've been having a lot of problems with hacking on my site. I think I finally have everything in check, and I won't have the issue anymore! I technically had a post written up for last Tuesday, but since I didn't get the chance to take pictures, I decided to upload it for next Tuesday. Here we are on a Friday though, so let's chat about my Fridaze.

Mardi Gras/New Orleans for Bachelorette

The main thing that happened since I've been away is that I went to New Orleans for Mardi Gras! I've always wanted to go, so I was really excited when Patty decided to go there for her Bachelorette party.

There were a lot of ups on this trip, and some downs. The town has beautiful architecture, the food was delicious, and the people were all so friendly! The one thing I will say, is that most of their specialty alcoholic drinks are so sweet, which is not typically what I drink, so I would not recommend those.

While Mardi Gras was a bit rowdy, I would go back during a different time of year!

**special shoutout to the girls I shared my room with**

Booked Next Trip

My best friend, Amanda, decided that we should take a couples trip this summer! I usually don't take big trips in the Summer, mainly because it's more expensive in the Summer, and I don't have a job that requires me to take off only during that time.

Amanda's a teacher, which means she only has a certain time she can take off. We looked at a few places, and decided we're going to Mexico! Even though I went last year, I'm excited to get to experience different things with different people.

Getting Sick

Upon coming back from Louisiana, I got a cold! I think it had to do with going from a warm place to a cold place, and then not dressing properly. I spent the whole weekend hanging out with Joe and resting.

I still have some sniffles, but I feel really well!

Being in Charge at Work

My parents went to visit my brother in South Carolina, so I'm in charge! Usually it's a very stressful few days, but to be honest, I feel like this has been the smoothest it's ever been while they've been gone.

I don't know if that means that I'm getting more comfortable taking over, or if I just got lucky!

Looking at Apartments

This might be the most exciting things to share. I never shared this before, but I was originally planning on buying a house, but with the ridiculous rise in housing prices, I decided to lease an apartment for a year!

I started looking for apartments for the past two weeks, and while it's a bit daunting, it's also very exciting. I can't wait to start this new chapter in my life.

Can we Talk about Peacemaker?

J hyped up Peacemaker so much, and I finally got the chance to start it. Not even two weeks later, I finished the whole season! While I feel like DC cinematic universe isn't the best, this show was a hit for me.

The plotline was good, the acting was good, and I honestly can't wait for the second season to come out! If you haven't watched it yet, I recommend watching the second Suicide Squad, and then watch this one. It's 100% worth the watch!

Shows/Movies I’ve Watched This Week:

  • Sword Art Online Season 1 episodes 1-7 [Netflix]
  • Peacemaker episodes 1-8 [HBO Max]
  • Emily in Paris Season 2 episodes 3-10 [Netflix]
  • Community Season 1 episodes 16-17 [Netflix]

Books I’ve Been Reading This Week:

  • The One by John Marrs
  • Anything You Do Say by Gillian McAllister
  • Deconstructed by Liz Talley

I thought I would have a lot more to chat about since I skipped two Friday's, but I guess most of it took place during my trip! As always, I hope you guys have a great weekend. Sending you all the love, strength, and positive vibes you need. Thanks for reading xx

I'm glad you got the hacking situation sorted! A couple's trip sounds amazing and to Mexico! I haven't been abroad in a couple of years because of Covid so I'm really excited about going away this year.

I've just finished watching Emily in Paris S2. It's so easy to binge on! xx https://www.thestyleoflaurajane.com/

Ooo! Do you know where you’re planning to travel to?? And agreed, while the show isn’t exactly what I would consider quality, it’s such a fun and easy watch!

Yes, I finally got everything figured out! I paid for monthly security to monitor my site. I never want to deal with that ever again.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time (site hacking excluded).
I am loving the fabulous photographs you took in New Orleans -
of the bride, of the festively decorated balconies overlooking the pedestrians on the street,
and especially the photo of the four absolutely stunningly gorgeous bachelorettes!
    You all looked very beautiful!!!!

It was super stressful! I have now paid for a security company to monitor my site too. I'm actually looking at 2 apartments this week, so fingers crossed one of these might be the one! xx
