Makeup I've been Impressed by! | Summer 2018

Hey guys, can you believe it's already mid-August!? Where has the time flown? Before we know it summer's going to be over, and it's going to be fall. While I'm sad for the summer to go away, I'm also quite excited to start doing fall activities. Today I'm going to talk about makeup I've been impressed with lately! There's been many hits that I've purchased recently, and I've been wanting to share them with you.

Maybelline Face Studio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter

I wrote about this highlighter about a year ago if I'm not mistaken (you can read it here), and I'm still obsessed. I'm finally hitting pan on the molten gold shade! I also own the "Molten Rose Gold Shade" and I'm honestly obsessed with both! They're super blinding, extremely creamy, and are super affordable! I cannot talk highly enough about this product, and think if you still haven't tried this product out and you're on the market for a new highlighter, this is one to add to your collection. Check it out US: here (Molten Gold), here (Molten Rose Gold) or UK: here (Molten Gold), here (Molten Rose Gold) !

Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation

IMG_2750

I've never tried a stick foundation before, but I've been always wanted to try one. I knew the Hourglass foundation stick is legendary for amazing coverage, but I didn't really want to invest in a full coverage foundation at the moment. I was looking for something that was pretty light coverage for the summer. At first I wasn't impressed, because I felt like I wasn't applying it correctly, but with time I've learned ways of applying it to make it last the way I want it to, but still have a light to medium coverage! It has a kind of oily formula, so if you have oily skin, THIS PRODUCT IS NOT FOR YOU. I've been reaching for this all summer, and recommend it to people who want a more natural dewy look. Check it out here.

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal & Contour

I know what you're thinking, another makeup revolution product!? No, this is not a sponsored post, I've just been extremely impressed with the products Makeup Revolution! When I first heard of this product, people compared it to Tarte Shape Tape, another beloved product of mine. Some people even said that this was better that Shape Tape. I didn't believe it, but it definitely piqued my interest. I picked one up at Ulta, and loved it. It has a lighter formula than the Shape Tape, but still extremely full coverage! It also mixes extremely well with the Makeup Revolution stick foundation. The best part!? It only costs $7.00! It actually might replace the Tarte Shape Tape! Wanna get your own hands on it? You can get it at Ulta! You can also check it out here.

MAC Prep + Prime Fix+

IMG_2752

I've definitely tried a few setting sprays in my time, and since the last one I tried (the Marc Jacob's coconut setting spray, which you can read about here!) didn't work out too well for me, I was so happy with the results of this one. It's a great way to not only set your makeup, but prep your skin. It helps make my makeup last for hours! My other favorite setting spray is the Urban Decay All Nighter, and they come out pretty close in terms of keeping the makeup looking fresh longer! The Mac Fix+ costs less than the All Nighter, which is better for me! If you're looking for an amazing priming and setting spray, you should definitely try this one out! You can check it out US: here or UK: here.

Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Loose Setting Powder

IMG_2751

The first setting powder I ever used was the NYX HD setting powder, and while it worked for me, it had terrible flashback. I combed through loads of reviews and YouTube videos in search for the best setting powder. I don't think I've found it yet, but I've definitely been loving the setting powder by Too Faced. It helps make my makeup last longer, does't change the color of my foundation, and doesn't have flash back! If you're not currently happy with the setting powder you have, or are on the look outs for one, I suggest you check this one out! You can check it out US: here or UK: here.

Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette

IMG_2753

When Too Faced released the original Peach Palette, I have to say I wasn't too impressed. I felt like the palette had too many browns, and not enough of the shades that I envisioned to be in a peach palette. Low and behold when they exclusively released the Matte Peach Palette. I immediately fell in love. This palette is full of oranges, red-browns, and pinks! I have created so many beautiful looks, that I've been obsessed. I've been using this palette all throughout the summer, because it always adds that pop of color I need. If you're on the lookout for a palette that's a bit different in terms of shade, and it's also extremely compact! You can check it out US: here or UK: here.

I could honestly go on and on about makeup products, but I won't do that to you guys. What products have you been loving recently? Let me know in the comments below! As always have a wonderful day/night. Sending you love, strength, and positivity!

Mac Fix+ is my go to! I use it everyday before my makeup to prime and use it as a base and then after my makeup to set my face and make my face look dewy and glowy. Great post!! xx

That's exactly why I like it too! I'm running out of the bottle I have (as you can see from the photos above), and so I have to buy another one! This time I'm trying the rose fix+, and I hope it works just as well! Thank you so much Liv 🙂 xx

Oooh I love posts like these! Mac Prep and Prime is a favourite of mine and I keep seeing such amazing reviews of Too Faced that I definitely feel like I've dropped the ball by not trying anything yet!

I definitely love the pigmentation of Too Faced Eye Shadows, but I love their foundation, and their setting powder. Their packaging is super cute too!

I love that you're talking about products that aren't all necessarily new, it keeps it real that we don't always need to have all the latest releases 🙂
I'm so glad to hear that you like the MUR foundation stick, I've been thinking about picking it up. I recently tried a sample of the hourglass stick and it looked amazing on my skin but it's way too expensive. I've also been considering trying the MUR concealer so this post came at the perfect time for me.
The Peachy matte palette is so great! I haven't been using it much in the summer but I'm sure in the fall I'll be picking it back up again. Great post as always xx

I've been on a bit of a spending ban in terms of makeup, until I use up some of what I have, but the two latest products I bought are the MUR foundation stick and the MUR concealer. The foundation stick takes a little getting used to, and like I said it is not full coverage, and will not be good if you have oily skin (which I'm pretty sure you don't), but for these summer days, I really am enjoying it!
If you like the Tarte shape tape, this, to me, is even better! It's so inexpensive, really light on the skin, and extremely full coverage! Super impressed with the concealer.
I k now some people had love/hate relationships with the foundation, but it's only $9 (I think), which isn't a lot, and so I definitely think it's worth checking out! Thanks for reading and commenting Cleia 🙂 x

That's okay, I'm more of a light to medium coverage girl anyways. Full coverage tends to look cakey on me. I have dry skin so I think it would work for me okay!
I've never tried shape tape but I'm sure I'd love this one if it's anything like it from what I've heard!
