Fridaze 061

Wow, it's been a month since I've done a Fridaze! Even though I wasn't making a post on most Tuesdays, I was doing a good job at keeping up with my Fridaze. It's been a super busy month, so get ready to chat for a while. Grab a cup of coffee or tea, and let's jump into it.

Apple Picking

So I'm writing about all the things that happened since I've last updated you! I was able to do my yearly apple picking with J and my mom. It was J's first time apple picking, and I had such a great time. We had apple cider donuts, picked a whole bunch of apples, and had delicious apple cider.

It's one of those fall activities I always look forward to.

College Hockey Game

In October, Me and J went to his cousin's hockey game. While they lost badly, it was nice to spend time with his family. Not only that, but it put me in the mood for us to go to a Devil's game at some point during this season! Hopefully we get to go to one of the games soon.

Ireland

I went to Ireland! I went with J, my sister, and her boyfriend. We spend 8 days there, and had an amazing time. We spent time in Dublin (which I wish we had more time in), Galway (which we spent the perfect amount of time in), and Limerick (which I wish we spent less time in). I always love and appreciate the slowdown that most countries have when compared to the US. Even though we kept busy, the slowness that they had there, definitely allowed me to relax more than I expected, which was nice. J was our driver of the trip, and it was so nerve wrecking! Driving on the opposite side of the road, while also driving from the opposite side of the car was a bit strange! Luckily I felt like the roads were fairly well organized (with the exception of all the roundabouts! Why do you guys have so many there?).

We also got the chance to visit the Aaran Islands, and the Cliffs of Moher! Next time around, I would love to see the castle close-ish to the Cliffs of Moher. I would also like the chance to get to know a bit of Northern Ireland. I know some people say the food is bad in Ireland, but I didn't have that experience! I loved the fresh fish & seafood in Galway, the fish and chips, the savory pies, and the delicious hearty stews.

I had an amazing trip, and highly recommend Ireland as a country to visit!

Come back Sick

After coming back from Ireland, I felt really under the weather. I took 3 covid tests and they came out negative, but my sister was also sick and ended up positive. After spending 8 days away from work, I had to spend another 2 at home resting (not including the whole weekened I also spend at home).

Family come to visit

I was really fortunate to have my cousin, grandma, and aunt visit from the Dominican Republic! They have been here since the beginning of November, and will stay til Thanksgiving. It's been nice having them around, and catching up with them. They have come to visit my apartment, we went to visit my sister's apartment, and have spent a lot of time at my parent's house.

Hosting for the first time!

Me and J had guests over for the first time! In celebration of Halloween, we invited a few of our friends to a bring-a-drink night! Everyone brought the ingredients to make their own cocktail for the group. Luca behaved so well, and it seemed like everyone had fun! It already makes me excited for the next time that we host people.

J travels again

It's been a super busy season for J's job, so he went away again for another week. He was actually supposed to be out of the house traveling this week as well, but I was so happy when they canceled his trip. He won't be expected to travel until after Thanksgiving!

Christmas Decorations

Since this is my first year out of my parent's house, and also the first shared space between me and J, we bought Christmas decorations! We bought a wreath, Christmas tree, ornaments, and a Christmas star! I usually tend to put up my tree after Thanksgiving, but this year, I was so excited that I did it last weekend. It looks so beautiful, and it gives it a super homey vibe. There are still a few things I want to get for the apartment, but for the most part it's done!

lots of birthdays

This past month, I've had a lot of birthday's. J's friend's wife's birthday, where we went to their house where they rented out a food truck and a scream truck (ice cream)!

Then it was my mom's birthday, where we went to dinner on her actual birthday, and then in celebration of her birthday, we went to a candle making class.

After that it was J's nephew's birthday, where we drove all the way down to celebrate at their house. It's always nice spending time with his family. I was so excited for Max to open his gift, but he didn't seem very enthusiastic. I guess that's teenager's for you!

Finally, it was my sister's birthday. Her birthday was yesterday, so as of now we had Mexican food at my parent's house. I know she's has a birthday dinner planned with her boyfriend on Saturday, but she said she may want to do a little celebration sometime next weekend!

I've always wanted to go apple picking it sounds like such a lovely autumn activity. My mom is always buying apples and says it's a waste of time (lol) but I would still love to try it one day!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time in Ireland! You've had a couple of busy weeks but I'm glad you had a chance to write up this post. I love hearing what you get up to. I hope you're feeling better now and recovered from being sick. ♥

I love it! You should definitely go one year, I swear eating apples picked straight from a tree tastes way better than the ones you get at the store!
Thanks for the kind words:) I miss chatting with you all, and I'm glad someone feels the same way!
