I know I haven't really kept up with blogging, but I promise I'm easing back into it! I started writing up a post, but it's a personal one and I want it to be perfect before I share it with you all. Happy Friday!

Anxiety hit me hard

While I've had anxiety all of 2020 and 2021 so far. It had settled a lot throughout the summer. I had minor spikes, but nothing too serious. This past week I've had really high anxiety. I know it's understandable because of everything that has gone on in the month of September, but it doesn't make me feel any better.

I've been exercising about 4 times a week and reading a lot more, which seems to give me temporary relief.

Water Lantern Festival

I've always wanted to go to those regular Lantern festivals, like the ones from the movie Tangled. While I didn't find a regular one available in our area, my sister found this festival! Me, my sister, her boyfriend, and two of my friends ended up going. There was music, food trucks, and lots of good vibes. I honestly had a great time, and would recommend it to other people!

NYC Things

I went to NY again this weekend. Me and my best friend, Jill, wanted to check out the Concrete Jungle theme from Cocterleria in NYC. We honestly thought the place was going to be super cute with good drinks, but what we didn't expect was the food to be so good!

We were only expecting to stay for an hour or two, but we spent the whole night there drinking and eating. I highly recommend checking out their location! While they don't have the Concrete Jungle theme anymore, they are going to have a Dia de los Muertos theme for the whole month of October.

Fell in love with reading

As I mentioned, my anxiety has been extremely high. While I tend to read lot of fluffy (not full of real substance, light hearted reads), I went to Barnes & Noble and ended up buying the Six of Crows Duology. I read the first book in the Shadow & Bone series, and loved it. I didn't initially realized it took place in the same world, after Shadow & Bone, so technically I should have finished that series before starting this one.

Nonetheless, I finished the Six of Crows in 2 days. It was so good. It's honestly gotten me distracted from my anxiety and made me fall in love with books. It's honestly such a well constructed fantasy series. I'm already on the Crooked Kingdom! I'll probably finish it by the end of the weekend. I will say that the second book is just as good as the first.

There are also rumors that Leigh Bardugo is supposed to release a third book to this duology, which is extra exciting.

I'm happy to say that while not much has happened, I've had a pretty great week overall! I'm proud of myself for not letting my anxiety ruin my week. In reality, I had one of the better weeks as of late! How was your week? Let me know down below. As always, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Sending you love, strength and positivity xx

Sorry to hear about your anxiety causing bother lately. Glad you've found exercise and reading to help you though - those two things help me massively, too!
