Fridaze 013

It's Friday again, and I finally finished the post I started last week! You will all be able to read it this Tuesday, so keep an eye out for that. I've been thinking of switching my posts from Tuesdays and Fridays to Mondays and Fridays. How do you guys feel about that. I think it might give me more time to get everything written up, and also puts a little but more of a gap between posts (whenever I decide to post more consistently).

This week was actually a good one. There was a bit of anxiety in the background of everything, but I still managed to have a good week! Grab a cup of coffee or tea, and let's chat about it for a bit.

Finding a Balance at Work

A few months ago, one of the girls who work in the office with me moved to a different state, and since then we've been a little understaffed. It's been a little tricky to work around what I normally do, while also picking up the slack on some of the responsibilities she had while she was working there. It's been two months since she left, and I finally have found a new groove at work.

While it's still not perfect, and I am already stressing about when I decide to take trips in the future, for now I'm feeling happy with the way work's been going.

Working out 3-4 Times a Week

As I mentioned last week, I've been struggling with the cold weather approaching and my anxiety acting up. One way I've been trying to focus on myself is by exercising 3 to 4 times a week. I've been doing some light weight training and some cardio!

It's been doing wonders to my mood, at least temporarily. If you're struggling with your mental health, I recommend to start moving your body in some way. Even if it's just for 10-20 mins.

Sleeping Terribly

Even though I've been exercising consistently, I've been sleeping terribly for the last 3-4 days. I know it's taking a toll on me. I've never been the best sleeper, but I hope this phase passes soon, and I'm back to sleeping alright again.

First Haunted House of the Season

Last Friday night, I went to my first haunted house of the season! I love everything spooky and Halloween, so was a great start to the month of October. I had a great time with my friend Amanda, and two new friends Flor and Luz!

We're trying to plan to go to another haunted house together soon, so I'm super excited about that.

Family Dinner

All week, my sister and her boyfriend had been planning to take me and my family out to dinner! It was originally supposed to be the 6 of us, but since my younger brother took a spontaneous trip to the Dominican Republic, it ended up being the 5 of us.

We ended up going to one of my favorite restaurants that make some of the best brick oven pizza. There's just something about the sauce! We had a great time, and it was nice to introduce this place to my parents, who had never been there before.

While I didn't get any good pictures of that day, I loved the cute lil sweater I was wearing (in picture above).

Squid Game is as good as Everyone says

Now, you've probably heard it a million but I binged Squid Game on Sunday. I knew that I was going to love it. Firstly, most K-Dramas are really good. Secondly, the plot kind of reminded me of Alice in Borderland, so it got me even more excited.

Now the show was amazing as everyone said it was. There was one episode that got me crying, and the ending left me wanting more. I know the show just came out, but I'm already excited for the second season.

I've been trying not to watch shows that are going to have a second season, but I knew I didn't want to wait. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it!

Shows/Movies I’ve Watched This Week:

  • Squid Game Episodes 1-9[Netflix]
  • Murders in the Building Episodes 1-7 [Hulu]
  • The Voice Season 21 [Live TV]

Games I’ve Been Playing This Week:

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe [Switch]

Books I’ve Been Reading This Week:

  • Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
  • Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
  • Command Me by Geneva Lee

That was my week in a nutshell! I've gone back and forth with figuring out on whether to keep these posts on more on the positive side of things (sticking to the highlights), or writing about the highs and lows of the week. I think I like the idea of keeping things as real as possible with you guys, so we'll see what I decide to do. If you have an opinion on this let me know!

As always, I hope you have an amazing weekend, and we'll chat next week! Sending you love, strength, and positivity xx

I'm glad you found a new rhythm at work and I hope this will continue. I get it about the sleeping issues! I've been having a terrible time with my sleep lately, just as well. I'm trying some herbal tea in the evening and hoping that will help. Sending you all the love and take care!! <3

I feel like with the changing of the weather, it does something to my body where I just don't sleep as well! I'm going to go back to taking some vitamin D, because last year it helped me loads. Hope you're doing well 🙂 xx
