Dear Diary,

Hey guys, I know I’m posting on a Saturday, but with the way that this week went for me, I didn’t really have the time or inspiration to actually write or keep up with my blog or read any of my favorites for that part.

To make it up to you guys, and even make me feel like less of a lazy bum, I decided to write a little Saturday post. I decided to do a few more of these “diary entry” type of posts. They’re the posts that make blogging popular a while back, and it’s something I’d like to bring back. Not only are they super therapeutic for me, but  I think posts like these allow you to get to know the person behind the screen a bit more.

Ever since the New Year’s started, I had those “this was going to be the best year ever” vibes. In reality though, I’ve been feeling like the complete opposite.

I’ve been feeling super down, which tends to happen in the winter. I’m tired all the time. Things as simple getting up in the morning, has become a chore. I have trouble sleeping most days, and I get so overwhelmed, anxious, and upset at the smallest things. It’s beyond frustrating, and I’m trying to make the most of it. I have to say I’m quite proud of myself, and I organized all my makeup today! I got rid of stuff that was expired or I didn’t use, and put them in these nice clear drawers! I might not seem like a huge things for some people, but I am super pleased.

Another issue I’ve been having is that, I don’t know what direction to take my blog in. Some days I’m filled with inspiration, but other days, I’m just stuck starting a screen for who knows how long. I have all these plans with my blog, but I just don’t know how to make them a reality. What do I have to do in order to “up my blogging game”?

I was also super sick last weekend into this Tuesday/Wednesday. Then, because work was so busy last week, I was unable to take the sick days necessary to make myself feel better immediately. I can finally say that I’m feeling better, thank god.

I gotta say I've been getting a lot of reading done in the last few weeks. 2019 just started, and I've already read 4 books! I was really slacking with my reading towards the end of 2018, but there just aren't enough hours in a day! I can't wait to share with you guys what books I've been reading. There have been some really big hits, and some not so great books, which I hope to save you from wasting your time.

One of the best things I've done this month is start my brand new bullet journal! I love bullet journaling, and I gotta say that the way I started my third bullet journal, might be my favorite yet! I'm thinking of doing a flip-through of 2018 on my YouTube channel, and then doing a post on my January bullet journal spreads! What do you guys think about that?

I hope you're having a much better January than I am. Let me know what you've been up to throughout this month! Thank you as always for reading. Have a wonderful day/night. Sending you love, strength, and positivity!

I've been all over the place with my blog. What direction, what articles, is there enough of this or enough of that? I think when you've been blogging for a couple of years, it's such a natural thing to question. I love your blog and I've always loved following it. I think it's easy to read, it's interesting and very relatable. But if you want a new direction, I'd try to look at other bloggers and see what things you like.
I struggle with the winter as well. I'm anxious and over worrying. I've started writing down lists of everything I do each day, just to encourage myself to keep being productive. Cleaning your makeup and arranging etc is a HUGE thing! Because it's hard getting rid of products and it's one of those tasks that people just put to the back of their minds. xxx

I completely agree. I've been blogging for a little over 2 years now (which is a lot, but totally isn't at the same time), and while I know what I like writing about, I don't know how to raise the bar for myself? I've been looking towards other bloggers and written works for inspiration, and it definitely helps. Whenever i get a good idea, I jot down a few sentences about my train of thought into my bullet journal which helps me A LOT.
I'm so glad to hear that you enjoy my blog, because it means a lot. I find you so talented, and one of my close blogging friends. Thanks for your thoughtful comment Laura xxx

2 years really isn't alot. I use to always think it was, especially when started my blog. But if you think about companies, if a brand told me they've been running for 2 years, I would think they are extremely new.
I don't know if this will help, but whenever I feel like I want to push myself in writing, I try to think of doing something completely different. Like uploading video content on my blog or writing a story post. Sometimes the risk does really well and other times it's not popular, but I've never regretted anything. So is there anything you haven't done on your blog that you think wow, this is out my comfort zone?
I use my phone memo to jot down notes. It's funny sometimes though because I go back to notes from a previous week, and have to try to figure out why I wrote something like getting back on track.
Thank you for your sweet words. The feeling is mutual. xxx

I absolutely love this post and while I hate that you've been feeling down and unsure about your blog, I'm so glad you said it because I can actually really relate right now. Reading 4 books already is great though! I hope things start looking up soon!

My makeup was such a mess, I threw out old lipsticks and stuff, and now it's so organized and easy to find everything, I loved it!
I'll definitely make a bullet journal post this week! Keep posted 🙂 xx

We just have to keep reminding ourselves that this is temporary, and we will get through this stronger than before. If you need someone to chat to, I'm here! I'm so glad you like these style of entries! It's something to defintiely switch it up for me, but I'm actually really enjoying them. Instead of having so many overly-curated posts, it's nice to have some that are much less planned! xxx
