Treating My Skin with Peter Thomas Roth.

Hello! How are you this fine Thursday evening? I know, I know, my normal schedule is to post at 1pm (EST). I've come to the conclusion that instead of forcing myself to make certain deadlines, I'm going to just write when inspiration comes to me.

Today I'm going to talk to you about the Potent-C line by Peter Thomas Roth*. Now, I'm going to be totally transparent and state that these products were sent to me, so I can review them. As always, I will give you the complete truth.

Now let's get onto it. For the past two weeks I've been testing these products out twice a day, so I can get a pretty good feel for the products. Right off the bat, I'm going to tell you that I was pretty impressed.

I had actually never heard of Peter Thomas Roth before these products were sent to me. I put a story on my Instagram (follow me if you don't already @heyyitsmelina...shameless plug), and so many people had told me how amazing their products were, and how amazing it was that I had gotten these products gifted to me. All the DMs got me extremely excited to try them out.

I got sent three products, the Potent-C Power Eye Cream, the Potent-C Targeted Spot Brightener, and the Potent-C Power Serum. By looking at the packaging, you would never know that this is a luxury product. While the product didn't look necessarily cheap, it didn't match the price point of the products.

The price for these products is quite steep if you're used to shopping in Target, Walgreens or any of your local drugstores. For those of you who are a fan of shopping in Sephora, this might be more in your ballpark. The Potent-C Power Serum retails for $95. The Potent-C Targeted Spot Brightener is sold for $58 and the Potent-C Power Eye Cream costs $65. While this pricing might seem quite high for you, get into the actual review, so you can find out if I think these products are actually worth the price!

The products claim to brighten the skin, improve the look of fine lines, firm the skin, and help uneven skin tones. Right off the bat, the first think I noticed was how hydrating the products were without being overly oily. If you guys don't know, I have extremely dry & sensitive skin. I need a moisturizing product, that isn't too oily, because if not I will get pimples.

I've honestly never used an eye cream before, I usually use my face moisturizer around my eyes too, but this eye cream felt extremely nice. It's a bit on the thick side, and it made my eyes feel amazing. I felt like my under eyes ended up looking a bit brighter over the 2 weeks. I can't vouch and say whether the product reduces the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles, since I've only used the product for 2 weeks. Add-on the fact that I don't have many wrinkles along my eyes to begin with, but I was still super impressed by how plump my under eyes looked.

The next product I want to talk about is the Potent-C Targeted Spot Brightener. If you guys didn't know, I have a few dark spots along my face. I didn't want to see if this product worked on someone who barely has dark spots, so I also told my mom to try this product out too! The product is supposed to "reduce the appearance of the size of dark spots by up to 75%". They did say that this is supposed to be over the course of 12 weeks. I liked the smell of the product, and the way the applicator was, but I can't honestly tell you whether the product works or not. It's a bit soon to tell, but I will update this post over time to let you guys know whether the product is a good one or not. Sorry, for not being able to give you more info on this!

The final product, and it might be my favorite, is the Potent-C Power Serum. Now I've been on the journey to find the best serum for my face. This serum has the consistency of a lotion. It's a bit thick, and creamy. Typically the serums I try are very oil/gel like in consistency. This one wasn't like that at all. It's extremely moisturizing. I would put some one in the morning, and depending on what I did, my skin would feel just as moisturized in the evening. A bonus I dind't expect, it reduced a bit of the Rosacea on my cheeks! It also brightened my skin up loads. I am a huge fan of this product.

The Verdict.

The moment you've all been waiting for...I was extremely impressed with these products, and would definitely recommend the Potent-C Power Serum and the Potent-C Power Eye Cream. They both make my skin look amazing! Serum's are typically extremely expensive, and with the amount of product that comes in the bottle, it will last you quite a long time. This might be one of the best serums I've tried (it's definitely tied with the Olehenrikson Truth Serum).

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post! What new face products have you been trying out recently? Let me know in the comments below! As always, have a wonderful day/night. Sending you love, strength, and positivity.

The face serum and eye cream sounds really nice! I probably wouldn't pick up the dark spot brightener, but I'm curious to see if you notice any differences over 12 weeks. Does this line have a citrus smell?

So far the one dark spot I have, has lightened up a little bit, not enough to recommend the purchase, but enough for me to say it works? I still have a few weeks before making it to 12 week though! This line doesn't really have a citrus smell, it has a very fine medicated smell? It's not strong, and doesn't bother me! I have super sensitive skin, and I'm not a fan of overly strong smelling products for my face, so I can say with confidence that the smell isn't bad 🙂

As long as the medicated smell doesn't last I don't think it would be that big of a deal for me. Good to hear that it doesn't bother you!

It definitely doesn't last! I wouldn't be able to bare that smell so close to my nose all day!

I've never heard of this brand before, and I get what you mean about the packaging. I think it could look better. However, I love the review you have given and the serum does sound amazing. I like that the texture is like a lotion. xxx

First up, yay for blogging when you feel inspired! It can be overwhelming trying to stick to a schedule if you don't have anything you're dying to share... and almost counter productive. But I'm intrigued by these products -- especially the spot brightener I'm always looking for products to help fade acne scars & darker spots. Thanks for sharing!! 🙂

I'm loving these photos! I've never tried any Peter Thomas Roth products, but as I'm getting older, I should probably look into more mature skincare and brands. Excellent review! Glad to see they worked out for you!
