Things I'm Grateful for in January.

Hello everyone, how are you? As you're reading this, I'm off in the Dominican Republic. I was super responsible though, and pre-wrote a few posts! I've been doing pretty well at making sure I have interesting (in my opinion) stuff for you to read. Today I'm going to go through January and talk about the things that I was grateful for, so let's get started!

1. Trevor Noah Comedy Show

So, for Christmas, my brother got us tickets to go and see Trevor Noah. Now I love the Daily show, but I never knew whether he was funny in the sense of a comedy show. There was a lot of trouble getting there, because there was a huge accident, and we did get there almost an hour late, but it was honestly so amazing. We were so up close, it was crazy! He was so hilarious, and really had me laughing and tearing up. It was also a super cool experience to have with my brother (aka my best friend...corny I know).

2. I live Close to NYC

I love New York City. I spend as much time as I possibly can there! Those of you may even think I live there. The truth is, I don't. I actually like about 15 miles away from the city. That's usually not very far, but it all depends on traffic and what's going on during that exact day. I can get there between 20 minutes up to hours. Like I said, it all depends.

For me though, I feel like I live relatively close. I love New York City, but I don't know if I would live there. I love driving. It's the truth, I would be so angry all the time if I decided to drive in New York, but I don't love it enough to give up my car!

Now, I feel like this January was weird in New York, because people still have their decorations up! Usually during the first week of January they put all their stuff down, but this year, that wasn't the case! Last week I went to New York for a friend's birthday, and they still had a Christmas tree up in the lounge! I love Christmas decorations, they make me so happy, and so I was super excited to see that they were/are still up.

Another thing about New York, is that it's almost impossible to be bored. The moment I have nothing to do, I know that there's always something fun to do in New York (I have a new series soon that has to do with New York, so stay tuned!)

3. No Matter How Much Time Passes, Some Friendships Never Change.

As I said before, last week I went to a friend's surprise birthday party. I have been friends with her since about 3rd or 4th grade! When we were younger, it was so much easier to spend time with each other and hang out. Now that we're older, we're all adulting and being the #Girlbosses that we are, it's so much more difficult to see each other! I think I haven't seen her since last February or so.

I love that no matter what changes between us, and other friendships that I have (I truly suck at keeping in touch), when we reunite, it's almost as if no time has passed at all. Those are the friends I value the most.

January was a super eventful month for me, but I know February is going to be even better! What were you grateful for in January? Let me know in the comments below! Like always, I hope you have a wonderful day/night. Sending you love, strength and positivity.

This is such a lovely idea 🙂 I did a similar things with "17 silver linings for 2017" and it truly does help to reflect on those positives. What you said about friendship shows that - it's not about the fact there's more distance, it's that you can truly realise they MATTER!

Exactly so! There are friends I don't see for weeks or months at a time because we're so busy living out here, and you realize that they truly matter. Thanks for the thoughtful comment Sophie ! xxx

It's so true what you said about friendships. Getting older has meant I have so much more distance betwen myself and my loved ones. But it's so lovely that when we get together, it feels as though no time has passed. You look lovely in that photo too!
