Neutrogena Red & Blue Light Therapy Pen Review!

Hey guys, it's been a little while since I've written a skincare product review! I honestly love trying out new products, and this time around I was lucky enough to be sent this Light Therapy Pen by Neutrogena*.

I have to say when I heard about this product I was more than intrigued. This product is an innovative way to spot treat your pimples! There are no creams or cleansers to use. You just have this pen, that you leave on your pimple for two minutes and viola! It's supposed to disappear by the next day.

Now, I'm not someone who typically gets pimples, but when I do get them, they're super big and intrusive on my face. I also have extremely sensitive skin, so a lot of acne treatments are wayy too strong for my skin to handle.

While I was intrigued about the product, I have to say that I was also more than skeptical. How is a little light supposed to get rid of my pimples?

For the past two and a half months, I've been testing this product. I wanted to make sure that whatever my opinion was on this product, I was sure of what I wanted to share with you.

Now lemme tell you, in terms of packaging, Neutrogena did an amazing job. It's in this plastic container that you can see the product through the plastic. The product itself definitely takes the cake. It's in this light aluminum casing. There is nothing else on the product except the button to turn it on and off, and the brand name along the side. It looks extremely sleek, which I liked automatically.

Like I already mentioned, I don't get loads of pimples, so I don't know how it would work if you get a lot acne or if you have oily skin. On my dry skin, I have to say I was pretty impressed.

I get about one pimple at a time, mainly on my cheeks, forehead, and around my nose. When I noticed that the pimples were rising, I would wait til the night, and I would apply the light therapy pen on the pimple for two minutes. You know that two minutes pass because there's a lil' beep that you hear after the two minutes interval.

I would then leave the pimple alone, and I would wake up with a almost nonexistent pimple. On some occasions where I used it, it would be completely gone, and on others it was at least half the size it was the day beforehand.

I found that the pen didn't work very well against pimples that were underneath the skin. You know the ones that hurt? Those ones. I felt like it didn't really do much? I think it did very well on pimples that were above the skin though!

Another thing I was pleased with, is the fact that it didn't irritate my skin in the slightest! I always have to be careful with what I put on my skin because of how sensitive it is.

I think if you have any problems with acne, this is something you should give a try! I will probably continue to use it, at least until it runs out of battery. If you do end up buying the product, you should know that you can buy replacement batteries for the product.

The product is $20.00, and I think if it works for you, it's an amazing price. I know that some of my friends spend hundreds of dollars on acne creams and soaps. If you can cut down on expenses, and it works just as well or better than what you were using beforehand, then I say it's a win! You can purchase this Light Therapy Pen at Target, Walmart, Amazon, Walgreens, Ebay, and on the Neutrogena website.

Sounds like a pretty cool product - usually with this type of stuff I'd assume it doesn't work but it's great that it actually did. Luckily I really don't get many spots - but a younger me would've loved this haha.

That is amazing! They do treatments like this when you see a dermatologist so it is great that you can now do it at home! Definitely going to look into this! <3

I wonder how this works. I would be skeptical of something like this at first too, but if you saw a difference there must be something too it. My problem is that I don't get a lot of surface acne but I do get those deep set pimples. They're the worst 🙁
    Great review!
