showing gratitude in october | 2019

I haven't done one of these in a while, and I realized that I missed writing them. It's nice to look back at all the amazing things happening in my life. Sometimes you don't even realize that you had a great month until you break it down. I have to say that October has zoomed past, and I can't believe we're in November right now!

So let's get right into it.

Open Mic Night

I started October by going back to the open mic nights! I had skipped a few months over the summer, because I was so busy doing summer-y things. It was so nice to go back and enjoy the good vibes that are always there. There were some people that I knew, but also a lot of people I didn't recognize, which was really cool. As always it was a great night, and a great way to bring in the month.

Fright Fest

Me & my friend, Shayla, created a tradition where we would go to Fright Fest at Six Flags every year. This would be our second year going together in a row. Now only did we have a great time during the event, but it's always so great to catch up with each other. It's cool, because Shayla is one of those friends, that even though we don't see each other all the time, we bounce right back into the friendship as if no time has passed.

It might be because of the fact that I trust her, and even though we both have busy lives, I know I can talk about whatever I want with her. It's sad, because she's moving to San Francisco! While I already am planning a moment to go in visit her when she's a bit more established, It's going to be a bit sad to know that she's not a 15-20 minute ride away.

Apple Picking

Every Fall, I try to go Apple Picking. My mom loves going, so me, my sister, her boyfriend, and my mom all went apple picking. I feel like I eat the most apples while I go apple picking.

I had lots of apple cider, some apple cinnamon donuts and had a great time! If you have any farms that allow you to go apple picking nearby, I definitely recommend you go and give it a try!

Lost in Aster Fall Launch

As you all know by now, I have my own clothing line, and we've been live for about 3 months now, and we launched our fall line this month! It was super exciting, and the reaction to the clothes was beyond overwhelming.

If you haven't seen the clothes yet, you can see them on our Instagram (Lost in Aster Insta) or on our website (Lost in Aster Site).

Pennhurst Asylum

Earlier last month, some of my friends invited me to this haunted house that took place in a haunted abandoned asylum! It was honestly one of the scariest haunted houses I've ever been to. I had such a great time, and was with such great company!

My best friend, Erika, introduced me to these girls, and I'm honestly so happy she did, because sometimes I find myself having trouble making new genuine friends, and all of her friends that she's introduced me to, just make me so happy to be around them and be myself while being with them!

New Jersey Blogger Meetup

So this was actually super exciting. On Instagram, this girl Sandy who is also from New Jersey hit me up saying she's throwing an event. Me and my best friend both went to the event, and I actually had such a great time! The girls were all really nice, and I honestly didn't know that there were so many people from New Jersey that were blogging and on Instagram!

Sojo Spa (Jill's Birthday Celebration)

I actually went to Sojo Spa earlier this year, and had such an amazing time! My best friend, Jill, wanted to go to celebrate her birthday. So me, her, and one of her friends, went to the spa after work.

It was so nice and relaxing, I'm thinking of going after work more often!

Julia's Halloween Party

My friend, Jamie, and her sister threw a Halloween Party. I was so excited and so anxious at the same time. While I knew I was going to have fun, I didn't really know what to expect. Luckily, I had a great time! Her party was a huge success. I went as a Harry Potter Student, which was technically a recycled costume, but the last time I did it I had blonde hair, so it looked kind of different!

Halloween at Mister East

On Halloween Night, I ended up going out to the club. I have gone to multiple different locations, but I realized that Mister East is my favorite because of the fact that it's so close to home! The DJ was good, the people I went with were super fun, and overall had an amazing time. Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year, so it's always fun for me!

So this was my month! It was actually far busier than I realized. I am honestly so lucky to have had such an amazing month. How was your October? Let me know in the comments down below! Sending you love, strength, and positivity.

Wow you did so much in October!! The fall went by so fast for me, I didn't have time to do all of the fall themed things I usually like to do. I DID get to bake an apple pie though, so that was the highlight of the season for me.

I love your harry potter costume!

It sounds like you had a good time and created a lot of good new memories in October!
The Pennhurst Asylum haunted house looks like it was an architecturally beautiful building at one time - it's so sad that so many horrible things occurred at the Pennhurst Asylum long ago.
    I guess that's why it's haunted?
That New Jersey blogger meetup looks like it was fun, and Jill's birthday celebration at the Sojo Spa looks delightful! It looks like you had a wonderful Halloween. Thanks for sharing the glimpses of your amazing month!!!
