Sometimes it Happens by Lauren Barnholdt - 2 Stars

Well this book was something extremely cliche. It was the whole "I fell in love with my best friend's boyfriend". I mean some of the books i've read the girl always loved the boy, but her friend got to him first...In this case, her friend,Ava, goes to a different state for the summer to be a camp counselor. Right before the end of the school year Hannah's boyfriend, Sebastian, dumps her, and leaves her in a depressed state. Before Ava leaves for summer camp, she asks her boyfriend, Noah, to watch over her friend.
Now, it's very predictable to see what happens next. Noah gets her a job, they start spending a lot of time together, they start confiding in each other, and the chemistry between them grows.
Like most stories, Ava finds out and drama unfolds. I feel like there was a lot of build up, which I always like. The main problem with this book was that there wasn't a lot of character development for Noah or Hannah. I feel like while he did have a personality, the book did't show enough. He was unpredictable and at the same time just an overall blah character. I wanted to like him really badly but he was probably one of my least favorite romantic interests that i've read in a while.
Then with Hannah, she didn't have any interests or aspirations. She had a very one track mind. Boys, Coffee, Friends, etc.
To be honest, i don't recommend at all.

I do like a good cliche from time to time but there always has to be a small twist that makes them different from all the others, hate when you root for a character but it doesn't pull through! Your points you're making are exactly the things I wouldn't like either to thanks for the review!

    Great post,
