I honestly didn't get much reading done in February. I did up finishing The Martian, which I really enjoyed, and finished another fluff read! I've been easing into reading, and trying to find the balance between reading and falling in love with playing videogames like Witcher 3! A Shameless Little Con (Shameless #1) by Meli Raine - ★★★★

This is part of a trilogy, which I wasn't aware of when I started reading the first book. I will say before start reading, this first book is the best book in the trilogy. The plot gets a little muddled and unnecessary as the books continue. While I wanted to know how it ended, I did not enjoy the second and third book in the series as much as I enjoyed the first.
I think I would have enjoyed the series more if they made it a two book series, instead of trying to let it drag on and make it three books. Now onto the actual book review!
A year before the book takes place, Jane was kidnapped along with the presidential candidate's daughter. Even though she was cleared of any wrongdoing, it didn't matter. The media dragged her name through the mud.
Because of what happened, she now has personal government hired security. Silas is assigned to her, and he thinks he knows everything about her, including believing all the terrible things the media says she did.
Even though he thinks she's a traitor and backstabber, he's having a bit of trouble denying their natural connection.
I don't want to give up too much more away, but I honestly enjoyed this story for the most part. The way they unfolded what really happened a year ago, was really interesting. I liked how much character growth Jane goes through. While I sometimes just want to shake both Silas and Jane for their stupid decisions, I still enjoy both of their characters.
They even had some pretty cool side characters, my favorite being the President's daughter.
If you're into these type of political romances, with lots of action, plot twists, and betrayal, I would definitely consider looking into this bool. In the same breathe, as I mentioned before, I wasn't the hugest fan of the series as the books went on, so there's that.

After finishing the first book in the series, I decided to jump into the second book. I wasn't as impressed as the first. At this point, I kinda wished they didn't prolong the book for as long as it did. There were a lot of things that could have been taken out of this book, and it just didn't suck me in as much as the first did.
Jane's life is in danger, once a huge secret was spilt in the first book. Not only that, but she doesn't know who to trust. While she has fallen in love with Silas, and he's become her biggest informant, he constantly thinks she's lying.
Even though it hurts not to have his trust, she uses that to her benefit when things get crazy in this book.
Reckless (It Girl #3) by Cecily von Ziegesar - ★★★

This is the third book in the It Girl series. I feel like these books are great, because they're super easy and quick reads. It continues to follow the students of Waverly.
Since Jenny has gotten to Waverly, the students from the school cannot stop talking about her. In the course of the series so far, she's caught the eyes of three of the most popular guys at the school, and has even kissed 2 of them! The cherry on top is that she made Easy Walsh her boyfriend. Sadly, Jenny was unaware of the relationship Easy used to have with her current roommate Callie.
It didn't take long for Tinsley (the campus Queen B) to tell Callie all about how Jenny snatched Easy up. Not that she was completely innocent, stealing their other roommate's, Brett, man for herself.
Just like that, it was war between the four girls. Brett and Jenny on one side and Callie and Tinsley on the other.
While these books aren't going to be that life changing series you'll read, I really enjoy them! I read them when I was in high school, and rereading them now has been extremely enjoyable.
Believe in Me by Amy Sparling - ★★★

I didn't honestly know how I was going to like this book when I started it, but I was pretty pleasantly surprised! I will say that this book is technically supposed to be a 3 part series, but I didn't end up reading the other two books in the series. I felt like their story ended in the perfect place, and it didn't really make sense for me to keep reading. There was no cliffhangers or any reason to continue the series in my eyes!
Not only that, while the book was good, I didn't love the characters enough for me to be sucked in and want to continue figuring out what happens to the both of them.
The story follows Jett and Keanna. After Keanna's mom drops her off at a strangers home for the weekend. The weekend passes by, and her mom never picks her up. She's not picking up her phone and there's no other way to contact her.
Even though the Parks are extremely friendly, she knows that she doesn't belong there. Jett is under strict orders from his parents to make sure the Keanna feels welcome, and while he does so, he also loves getting under her skin. Not only that, but he starts to actually like her! It was a cute read to see where their journey takes them, and if you want a cute fluffy read, I definitely recommend checking it out!

These posts always inspire me to pick up a book and get reading myself! You still got through a lot of books even though you mentioned you didn't read a lot. A Shameless Little Con sounds like an alright read, but I doubt I'll pick it up if the next ones aren't as good xx
