Fridaze 042

Hello, welcome to the first Fridaze in a while! I've been trying to get back into blogging. Catching up with some of my favorites, and drafting some blog posts to schedule soon. It's been fun getting back into it without putting too much pressure on myself. It's been a super busy few weeks, so get ready. This one is going to be a long one (I suggest having some tea/coffee or other beverage of your choice).

Superbowl

As years have progressed, I have started to care less and less about football, and by default I've cared less about the Superbowl.

This year J's friend, Chris invited us over his house. There was so much good, it was a small intimate group, and all things considered I had a good time. I think I would have had more fun with my family or at home, but I think it's nice to change things up!

2nd Valentine's day with J

This was my second year spending Valentine's day with J. We didn't do that much. I'm not the biggest fan of Valentine's day. I'd rather cook a fun meal at home together, than go out and spend extra money on a valentine's day pre-fixed menu (not that I'm shaming anyone who does like it! I'm just trying to save money, and I feel like Valentine's day is about spending time with loved ones, not so much about what you do or how much you spend).

It's kinda weird, because I've never spent two Valentine's day with the same person? So I guess this is a milestone for me, aha.

David's 30th Bday

Me and J's mutual friend, David, was turning 30 back in February, so his family threw him a pretty big birthday party! It was nice to dress up, eat good food, and socialize with our friends. Afterwards we all headed to a bar to hang out even more. Even though I completely sucked at pool, I had a really good time. And the best part? I think David did too.

Jamie's Second Bridal Shower

For some reason, Jamie ended up having two bridal showers. This one was at this delicious Italian restaurant. She looked beautiful, the food was delicious, the place was nicely decorated, and I ended up having a good time. I was pretty anxious because I didn't know anyone really (last time my sister was invited, I was able to talk to her).

Erika's Bday

My best friend Erika celebrated her birthday! She ended up having a small get together at her apartment. This was another event that I was strangely anxious about, but I honestly shouldn't have. I had an amazing time. Lots of laughs, good food, and great company!

Signed our Lease

The highlight about the past few weeks, is that me and J are moving in together! I did mention it in passing a few posts ago, but I wasn't ready to share the exact details. It's a huge step in our relationship, but we're definitely ready. I have a post scheduled next week, talking a bit about it (be on the lookout for that).

Bachelorette Party at Ft. Lauderdale

Since Jamie's getting married soon, we spent a long weekend in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for her bachelorette party. It was 6 of us, and we had a great time. The food was delicious, everyone seemed to have a good time, the weather was beautiful, and there was no/minimal drama!

I had never spent more than a day in Ft. Lauderdale before, so it was nice to get to know a new city. 100% a successful bachelorette party!

Dinner with Jenn

Since my mental health has improved a bit as the weather's gotten nicer, I'm back putting more of an effort to maintain my friendships. I caught up with my friend Jenn. We had delicious Mexican food with some Margaritas (more like we had Margaritas with a side of food). It's always nice catching up when we have the chance, and I made it a point to try to do it more often with her!

KBBQ with Friends

Then that following weekend, Me and J caught up with Amanda, David, and another friend and had some KBBQ! We were trying to go back to the revolving sushi place, but the wait time was ridiculous (about 4 hours).

It had been a while since we had gone and eaten KBBQ, so it was still a really good time!

Breakfast Fundraiser

J's nephew was doing a fundraiser for his field trip, so we went to an Applebees before opening time, and all the 5th graders were serving us breakfast! It was honestly so cute, seeing them bring us drinks, food, and wiping down tables.

Luca's first Grooming Appointment

Last week was Luca's first grooming appointment! Normally me or J would bathe him ourselves, but we wanted to see if he would stay smelling better longer if we got a professional to do it. Unfortunately it didn't work that way, so most likely we won't be grooming him professionally often. Supposedly he was a good boy, which was exciting though!

Gender Reveal Party

The final piece of exciting news in the past month and a half is the fact that my cousin and his wife are pregnant. They're family that I'm close to, so it's super exciting. Not only that, it made me feel special to be part of this intimate and special day. They had no idea what they were going to have, so it was a surprise for most of us! And they're going to have a girl! So happy for the both of them. I can't wait to find out what they're going to decide to name her.
