BITE Beauty Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation: my thoughts

I've been using the BITE Beauty Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation for the past year. I remember watching Samantha Ravndahl rave about this foundation, and I knew I had to try it. She has sensitive, dry, acne scarred skin, and since I also have dry & sensitive skin, I had a feeling I was going to love it.

It took me a little while longer to buy it, since I was trying to finish up my Tarte Foundcealer (another foundation I love). I bought it at Sephora during one of their VIP sales, which was great since I saved some money.

What BITE Beauty Says about the Foundation:

Now this is what BITE has to say about their foundation. "A clean, longwearing foundation, fueled by nourishing, antioxidant-rich maqui berry, for a lightweight, natural finish that feels good on skin."

The product comes in 32 shades, is considered lightweight, and is vegan (as are all products made by BITE). The foundation comes with an ounce (30mL) of product, and is made in Italy.

Pricing:

At full price, the foundation costs $44. I got mine 20% off during the VIB sale at Sephora. While I'm currently writing this, they have it on sale on the BITE website for $22 (removed the link for bite beauty, because their site is no longer up and running). On top of that, they offer 15% off first time orders. If you want to get a lil' extra discount, Rakuten gives 4% cashback on all purchases made through BITE.

Packaging:

The formula comes in this squeezy tube. I like it because it's easy to get your foundation out. Not only that, but because some of the bottle is see-through, I can make sure I use up all of the product. I think the packaging itself looks sleek and simple. I'm a huge fan of the light pink accents!

My Experience with the Foundation:

When choosing a shade, I got L30. I was in between choosing L30 (light with neutral undertone) and L35 (light with warm peach undertone). After using the shade finder with Sephora, it recommended L30. I could not be happier with the shade match. L35 might have worked better for me in the Summer, but for most of the year L30 is the best shade for me.

As you may or may not know, I have extremely dry skin. Therefore, I've tried to stay away from super matte formulas, since I find it unflattering on me. Right off the bat, I would consider this foundation to have a natural finish. I feel like this foundation has a nice natural shine to it, but it's not particularly dewy. With the right type of primer/powder it could work for any skin type. If you're someone who has dry skin, use a hydrating primer in your dry patches (or if you're like me, prime your whole face). If you have oily skin, powder on top.

After the start of the pandemic, I was kind of getting away from that medium to full coverage. I kind of liked seeing my skin peek through the foundation. Now, this foundation has a light to a nice buildable medium coverage. If I need more coverage in specific areas, I'll reach for my Nars concealer. I really like that this foundation feels very breathable on my skin!

When using this foundation, I can get away with a solid 6-8 hours of wear. It does tend to break apart around my nose area (which is common for me). If I wear it for longer, my skin peaks through more.

Even when I wear this foundation multiple days in a row, I don't really tend to break out much, if at all. I think it may be because of the clean ingredients in the product.

Would I Recommend?/Who is this Product for?:

I 100% recommend this foundation. I like the fact that it has clean ingredients and is vegan. This foundation can work for people who have dry or oily skin (again, prep accordingly). It's perfect for people who want a natural finish with light to medium coverage.

I would not recommend this to anyone who wants a serum/extremely light coverage foundation. I would also not recommend this to anyone who wants a super matte, 24 hour wear foundation.

Now that I'm almost done with this tube, I'm planning on repurchasing in the near future!

Now those are my thoughts on the BITE Beauty Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation! Have you ever tried this foundation before? If you have, what has your experience been with it? If you haven't, do you think this is a product you would want to try eventually? Let me know down below!

This foundation sounds so nice! I love that it's got a breathable formula and is lighter coverage. This pandemic has made me apprciate seeing my actual skin, less is more.
It's funny how Sephora makes it seem like their sale is so exclusive and such a good deal but if you look on the brand sites the deals are often WAY better! I keep forgetting to use Rakuten, I need to be better about remembering.
Thanks for the review! I'd love to try this one x

I feel the same way! I was a full coverage girl before the pandemic, and somehow I'm a light to medium coverage girl now! On my day to day I prefer light, and then for my nights out I'm fine with a medium on my trouble spots, but still keep it pretty light.
I use google chrome and it has it's own extension that alert's you when a website can use rakuten!
They're unfortunately going out of business at the end of the year, but I hope you decide to give it a try. Thanks so much for reading and commenting 🙂 x

It's so upsetting, because I thought that I found my perfect foundation, and I wrote this post, but guess what!? They announced recently that they're going out of business. I stocked up on one more of their foundations, but I guess once that one's done, I'm going to have to find a new one! Thanks so much for reading and commenting 🙂 x
