Time for a change

I wasn't expecting to make any changes to my blog, but I was looking at it yesterday, and realize that it doesn't really reflect who I am anymore. I had made changes in the colors, and tried to refresh it. While it did give me the refresh I initially wanted, it still didn't leave me 100% satisfied. I wanted something a little cleaner, and I knew that when I saw it, I would know.

As always, I got so overwhelmed by all the options there were on the internet. I went on private WordPress theme companies, and I found them to be so expensive! Which for some people, it makes sense. But I felt like I have had my old themes for maybe 3 years, and it didn't feel worth it to me to spend so much for something I would change again in the next few years.

So then I went onto Etsy (which is where I purchased my past Theme, even though the creator no longer does that). I scrolled around for a bit, until I found this one! I found it to be extremely reasonably priced, and had lots of customization and beautiful pre-made layouts.

Last night, I dove in and made the changes. I don't know if anyone went on my site last night, but it was a complete mess! It took forever to figure out how to make changes, and get it to look the way I wanted it to. I know I definitely should have probably made my website private for a bit, but I always make this mistake. I think it's going to take me less than in hour, and no one's going to notice, but it ended up taking me closer to 3-4 hours!

Overall, I'm super happy with how everything looks. The fact that I have all of my links (including Goodreads, Threads, and my Bookstagram), it's pretty exciting! I'm definitely going to tweak it a lil bit more, but they're just some extra small changes I want to make. What do you guys think? Give me your honest opinions! Do you think it looks better now, or before?

You can obviously tell that this wasn't a planned post, considering the fact that I'm posting on a Sunday, but I was too excited to wait! Again, let me know. Chat soon xx

The new layout looks great, Melina!

I love tweaking my blog design once a year or so, just to keep things fresh and aligned with my current content. This feels very reflective of what you're sharing recently.

AH! I stopped by your blog a couple hours ago and noticed the design change and now, I'm seeing this post, so yay 😍 this is my opportunity to say, I really LOVE this new design, the minimalistic name of your blog, the little social media icons, the way your categories show on the homepage.. this looks lovely! 😍
There are just so many WordPress designs to choose from, so many possibilities and some of them are just... so expensive, as well aha. I'm so happy you found one that suits you. Love this!

Thank you so much! I'm glad someone else thinks so. Luckily this theme was very inexpensive, and even though it took me a while to set up, I'm so happy with the new look! Thanks so much for commenting 🙂 xx
