My Reading Habits!

Hey guys! Today I decided to go through the book tag. I am an avid reader. Since I take literature classes in school, I do a lot less reading throughout the semester. During winter and summer break I get through loads of books in a month. Let's begin!

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

I really enjoy reading on my bed. My room is my quiet place, so when I want to read, my bed is usually the place I go to read. When there's no one home I tend to go on my living room couch.

Book mark or random piece of paper?

When I travel, I like to collect book marks! Therefore, when I'm usually reading at home, I tend to have a bookmark nearby. Since I like to read multiple books at the same time though, there are instances where I don't have a bookmark available, and I'll use a random piece of paper.

Can  you just stop reading or do you have to stop at a chapter?

have to stop at a chapter. It will eat me up inside if I don't. When it's late at night, I tend to check how many pages are in a chapter, just to make sure that I'll make it to the end without falling asleep or not paying attention.

Do you eat or drink whilst reading?

I will drink any beverage, preferably water or tea. Sometimes I'll snack on something, but I don't really like doing that cause I don't want to get my book dirty with food.

E-Reader or real book?

I'm definitely a real book kind of girl. I do use my tablet sometimes to read books, but it makes my eyes tired, and isn't as enjoyable as reading a real book.

Music or TV while reading?

Neither! I like to have my full attention on my book. Sometimes if I'm in a crowded area, and I can't concentrate, I'll put on some classical music or video game soundtrack music (basically anything without words!).

One book at a time or several at once?

I usually read several at once. Sometimes I'll read a book, and I don't want it to end or I'm just not ready to know what happens next, so I'll move on to something that's a totally different genre or mood. I don't know if that completely makes sense? There are certain points though where I'm putting my full attention to one book at a time.

Reading at home or everywhere?

Everywhere!

Reading aloud or silently in your head?

When I'm reading for leisure, I read in my head. Sometimes when I'm studying and need to understand or memorize something, I read it out loud.

Fiction or Non-fiction?

I can definitely say I'm more of a fiction person.

Do you read ahead or skip pages?

I don't read ahead, even though I used to when I was younger! The only time I skip pages is when I'm rereading something and I don't want to read certain parts again.

Break the spine or keep a book like new?

I used to be really anal, and loved keeping my book in pristine condition. Luckily for me, I've gotten a lot better with that since taking so many English classes at school these last few semesters. If the book's for school I'll write in the books.

Do you write in your books?

Welp, I sorta already answered this, but I write in the books for school. I'm not a big fan on writing in my leisure books. Sometimes I'll randomly highlight really meaningful quotes though. I secretly like the idea of someone else reading my book and seeing what hit me hard.

Your favorite book?

Too hard to choose just one, so The Harry Potter Series and When A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness !
