While this past month has been extremely eventful, I've been making a conscious decision to slow things down. While not much happened, let's chat about it!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was last week, and it's one of my favorite holidays of the year, cause of the food. Me and J spent the morning together at our apartment, and then each went to our own family's celebrations. My mom was hosting Thanksgiving this year, and it was our immediate family, plus my mom's family that's here visiting. I get along really well with my family, so I had a good time catching up with everyone.

Black Friday Purchases

While I work on Black Friday, I do typically look at the sales online, and buy some things. I got some winter clothes, I bought some hockey tickets for later on in the season, and my big splurge of this season was a shark blow dryer! It's kind of a dupe for the Dyson air wrap, but I had enough points on my credit card to get it for $100! (I also bought some books, but I don't really want to get into all that).

Date Night

J is traveling again, so we had a nice date night before he left. We went to one of our favorite sushi restaurants, and then went bowling. I'm kind of proud of myself, because I used to suck at bowling. And while I'm definitely not good, I've been seeing some improvement lately!

J Travels Again

As I mentioned above, J is traveling again. And while some times it doesn't hit me so hard, this trip has been difficult from the first day. He's going to be gone 10 days, and even though there are still 6 days til he comes home, I want him home already. You would think that these longer trips get easier, but honestly it's hard every time. It may even get harder with time.

Friend Catchups

As you get older, your life gets so busy, it's much harder to have consistent friend dates. Which also means that I appreciate them so much more. I went out to dinner with Erika, and it was such a good hangout. We tried out a new Mexican spot, and not only was the food good, but we spent hours there talking and catching up. Since the place wasn't busy, we were able to sit there without being rushed out.

It's been a while since we had a hangout, it was nice to just talk. She's one of my best friends, and even if we don't talk every day, whenever do get the chance to chill, it's almost as if no time has passed by.

The writing isn't bad, and they do seem to tackle a few different heavy topics, but at the same time I wasn't a huge fan of the men. The men from the first and second book have a very similar personality, and they just weren't super likable. Then in the second book, the MMC is so terrible to the MFC and I feel like he doesn't change until the last 20% or so, so even though I loved the MFC in book two, I hated the guy and thought the MFC deserved better! I can't wait to hear her own thoughts on it. I still haven't gotten around to the third book, but that was my favorite brother of the three, so I think this one will be really good!
