Fridaze 055...more like Saturdaze 001

Can I still call it Fridaze if I end up posting on a Saturday? I completely lost track of time last week. While it hasn't been the most busy, it's been pretty hectic in other ways. This one is going to be short and sweet, so grab a cup of coffee or tea, and let's chat about it!

Bina's Wedding

Last Friday I was invited to go to an old friend's wedding. We hadn't spoken in years and at first I was completely caught off guard. As we got closer to the wedding day, I honestly felt really honored to be invited to be there for her special day. She is someone I was really close to in my early to mid twenties, and to see her find genuine happiness with her now-husband was really nice to see.

Throughout the week leading up to her wedding, we spend it texting each other, and catching up a bit. While I never thought I would be close to her ever again, this felt nice. More than nice actually. Not only that, but it was unexpected for me. On the actual wedding day we spoke a bit as well, and she seemed genuinely happy that I was there, and that made me feel really good actually. Overall, I was so happy for her, and she seemed to have a really nice time.

We've chatted a bit after the wedding, and as I mentioned before, I honestly never thought we would be close again. But I guess the saying does go never say never. Because who knows!

Hungover Saturdays

The day after the wedding I was more hungover than I thought I'd be. While I didn't drink that much, the bit I did drink mixed in with the lack of sleep definitely made me feel a bit crummy.

I spend Saturday reading, napping, and just lounging at the apartment.

Covid strikes again

There's an influx of Covid cases in my area again. Some of the people who ended up getting it, was my family. They're all okay, but since they had Covid, they couldn't come into work (and for those of you that don't know, we run a family business). It was definitely a bit stressful, and I had more on my plate than usual, but the work week went as smooth as possible!

I'm grateful when this Friday came around.

Finally getting through my TBR

You may have noticed that my books I've been reading section below has gotten smaller. For those of you that don't know, I'm terrible at finishing out series. There's something getting close to the end that makes me not want to finish a series. I fall in love with the characters and the world, and I just don't want it to end...so I put it off.

Sometimes for years.

I'm embarrassed to say that it's taken me about 2 years to finish the Shadow and Bone trilogy. But after these past two years, I finally made myself finish the story. It was not only amazing, but made me feel immense loss that I'll know about these characters again.

The next book in their universe if the Six of Crows Duology, which I have already read. So I'm going to jump into the King of Scars duology. I'm excited about it, because I've loved Nikolai in all of the books! He's the only main reoccurring character throughout all the books, so it feels comforting.

I've also gone back to finish The Final Offer and A Court of Wings and Ruin. I'm over 30% done with ACOWAR and about 20% done with The Final Offer. I'm not saying that there won't be other books in between. But it feels nice to make the list of started books a bit shorter.

Games I’ve Been Playing:

  • For the King [PC]
  • Sims 4 [PC]
  • Baulder’s Gate 3 [PC]
  • Divinity 2 [PC]

Shows/Movies I’ve Watched:

  • Below Deck season 2 [Peacock]
  • Black Clover episodes 31-45 [Hulu]

  • Iris Zero 7 by Takana Hotaru

A Saturdazed Fridaze 055 is understandable and admirable!

There is nothing wrong with finishing a book series. I never finished a book series that I started when I was in high school simply because the author decided to change all of the book covers before the last book in the series came out so I refused to buy and read the last book in the series because it doesn't match the rest of the books in my collection! haha ♥

aha, thanks for making me feel about that! I haven't wanted to read throne of glass, cause I thought the original book covers were so ugly! I'm so glad they redid them recently. After I finish the ACOTAR series, I'll move onto that one. Thanks for always chatting with me 🙂 x
