Fridaze 052
I've been falling behind on my Tuesday posts, but I've been trying to at least chat a bit with you during my Fridaze. We're at the halfway point of the summer, so I've been trying to cram in as much as possible! Grab a cup of tea or coffee and let's get into this week's Fridaze.
My Aunt visits from the Dominican Republic
My aunt spend the past week in NJ. She was visiting from Dominican Republic. It's been about 4-5 years since she's last been here, so it was really exciting to see her! I got the chance to spend time with her two days in the past week. On Wednesday, we went to Olive Garden's together with my sister and mom. Me and Sofia, my sister, were both craving their salad, soups, and breadsticks, so we decided to go there.
And then, on Saturday, she came over to meet J, and check out my apartment! I feel like the time passed way too quickly, and I wish she spent more days here. That just means that I have to visit soon!
J's nephew's birthday
Last week was a super busy weekend for me. On Thursday, Me and J took Luca and drove to J's sister's house after work. There was so much traffic, and we ended up getting there so late! While we didn't spend that much time there, it was really nice to be there to celebrate Mason's birthday.
It was also the last time we saw his family since we've gotten back from Disney!
J's mom's Birthday
The same week that it was Mason's birthday, it was also J's mom's birthday! We didn't know what to get her, so we decided to make a reservation to take her out to a nice dinner. The food was delicious, and I had a great time. Best of all? She seems to have had a really nice time!
She tends to go out a lot with J's sister and her kids, so I bet it was a different vibe to go to a nice dinner - sans kids. I always think it's a great idea to spend money on experiences as birthday gifts!
NYC
Then this past Sunday I took the train into the city! I was meeting up with my best friend, Jill. Her boyfriend lives in Hell's Kitchen, so it made sense for us to meet there. We started our day with doing a City Girls Who Walk event. We made a friend, and even though it was much shorter than I expected, it was fun!
Afterwards we made our way back to Hell's Kitchen, and had some brunch. The food was really good, I had some chicken and waffles with a passionfruit margarita! Then after that, we made our way downtown, and went to a coffee shop. That wasn't the original plan, but as always we went with the flow and enjoyed ourselves. It was so nice catching up with her.
