Hello my friends! I unexpectedly dropped off the face of the planet. I was getting into the groove of things with blogging, but then life got ahead of me. I've been struggling a bit mentally, and I was so busy. But here I am! Let's get into today's Fridaze
Blake's Birthday
Let's start with how I last updated you. That weekend was my cousin's birthday, so I went to upstate NY. I ended up bringing Luca, and he was such a good boy! He was a little anxious meeting so many new people, but for his first time at an event like that, he had such a great time. It was also super nice to catch up with all my family, some of them I haven't seen in a while!
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Then the following week, I went to see the Harry Potter Broadway show. My mom got me tickets for my birthday. I had no idea what the plot was going to be, and I have to say I was pretty impressed! They had so many sets, and the special effects were so cool. I really enjoyed the show, and recommend that anyone who's a fan of Harry Potter watch it!
Friend Catchups
Even with this super busy summer, I've done a good job at keeping in touch with friends. In the past month I've hung out with Christina, Erika, and Jamie! I also have had multiple phone conversations with Amanda.
It's kinda funny, I never expected myself to be a phone call girlie anymore, but it's so much easier to grab the phone and call whenever you have a moment to chat. So on my drive home from work, or while I'm doing my afternoon long walk with Luca, I'll call and see if they're free to chat! Even if it's a short conversation, it's nice to just check in and show you're thinking about them.
Father's Day
For father's day my family, plus Martin (my sister's boyfriend) went to a really good Korean spot in Jersey City! The place itself was super cute. The cocktails were also really fun and delicious. While the place was a little pricey, the food was so so good. We bought a whole bunch of entrees, and ate it family style. We got to try so many different meals, and everything I tried was delicious. If you're in the area, I highly recommend.
4th of July
I actually had two 4th of July celebrations. The day before 4th of July, me and J went to his friend's BBQ. As always, I had a really good time! I've already become friends with some people in his friend group, so it's nice to catch up with them, and spend time with them.
Then for the actual 4th of July. We weren't even sure the event was going to go on. It was pouring the whole morning, so my aunt was planning on canceling her BBQ, but it ended up happening because it stopped raining around 3PM. So me, J, and Luca went over! We had a really good time, eating good food, going in the pool, and catching up with my family
Disney
The weekend right after 4th of July weekend, me and J met up with his family in Florida to spend a few days in Disney! I haven't been to Disney in about 8 years or so, so I was super excited to see all the new things they've added to the parks. We went to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom. We also went to Disney Springs (aka Downtown Disney).
I honestly had a really amazing time. I feel like I got closer to his family, and I felt like they got to know me a lot more. They usually see me for a few hours at a time, but this time around, they saw me for multiple days in a row. I've been wanting to get closer to his niece and nephews, and I felt like we were able to do that with this trip!
Dining Room Table
Oh my god. I don't know where to start with getting a dining room table. This has been a month long process. I ordered a table I fell in love with in early June. It took about a week to get to my house. Except when I get it, the box is destroyed, and you can clearly see that the table has been damaged. So I contacted Target, and they said they would send me a replacement table, and pick up the damaged table.
I wanted another week, and when that table got back, that table was also damaged! I was super frustrated, and they ended up picking up both damaged tables.
I ended up looking elsewhere for my table, and I finally found one on Bob's! The cool thing about buying a table with Bob's is that they deliver it and install it!
Cousin's Babyshower
The final exciting thing is the fact that my cousin had her baby shower! The shower itself was really beautiful. She looked stunning, and I'm so excited for the baby to come.
