Fridaze 048

Happy Fridaze! I've done a great job at keeping up with you guys this week. I loved reading blog posts, and just writing from the heart. I have a few posts in the upcoming weeks that are much more personal than I've been writing. So it'll be fun to publish that. This week has been pretty good!

We had a short week this week, because of Memorial Day weekend. On top of that, the weather has been beautiful. Warm and sunny all week! I have a few things to share with you all, so grab your drink of choice, and let's chat.

Helping Sofia Redecorate

After an uneventful Friday, me and J spend Saturday at my sister's house! She was upgrading her bed to a king size, and giving her overall bedroom a refresh. We went to help her build the new bed frame, and put things in place for her.

I will say, I didn't expect it to take as long as it did! I thought we were going to be done in an hour or so, but it took more like 3-4 hours to build the bed and put everything in place!

At the end though, her room looked so nice. Made me want to get new sheets and a new rug! I'll definitely get to it eventually [just trying to replenish my money a bit after the move, aha].

Adjacent Music Festival

Then Sunday was a super exciting day. Me & J had tickets to go to Adjacent Fest. It was a music festival on the beach in Atlantic City. They sent us the lineup and times everyone was going on about 2 days prior, so we decided to not go right at the start of the festival, since the bands we like started later.

It was a bit of a drive, so it worked out for us that way (about a 2 hour drive)!

We went to see Coheed & Cambria, The Front Bottoms, Motion City Soundtrack, and Blink-182! It was a super exciting day, and we had a great time. We didn't get a hotel for the night, so I will say that the drive home was rough. We got home at almost 2AM! Still so worth it though, and I would for sure go next year if they have a good line up.

BBQ at Parent's House

Monday was memorial day, so me and J headed over to my parent's house with Luca! We had a BBQ, and it was a lot of fun. There was a lot of food, the music was playing the whole time, and I enjoyed the first day of pool season! The pool water was freezing, since the heater wasn't on, but I lounged on the pool floatie and enjoyed the peace of floating on water.

We left a little early since we worked the next day, but we all had a really fun time.

Gave my Car some TLC

This is something that has been on my checklist for a while now! I've been needing to wash my car, and this past weekend I finally had the chance to do so. J helped me, and it came out so nice and clean. We even cleaned the floor mats.

While I love the look of a clean car, I'm not overly car obsessed. I just need a car with AC/Heat, Music, and will get me where I need to go. So I've definitely had put it off for much longer than usual. With all the pollen in the air, it already looks a little dusty, but much better than before!

A lil Refresh

If you guys ever log directly onto my site, you'll see that I gave it a lil' refresh. I changed the color scheme, and I think it looks much better! There was nothing wrong with it before, I was just tired of the orange and cream. The shades of green give me a much calmer vibe.

I'm a huge fan of it!

If you have any other suggestions of what I can do to improve my blog, definitely let me know.

Ted Lasso Series Finale

This past Wednesday was the Ted Lasso series finale. I invited J's mom over, J made chicken parm for the three of us (I made the salad), and we watched it all together. The show ended perfectly. I made me laugh, it made me smile, and it made me tear up.

I'm so sad the show is over, but it could not have ended on a better note. It's rare for a show to exist where every episode is perfect. And this show does just that. If you haven't watched the show before, I highly recommend it.

Dog Park

Early this week we took Luca to the dog park for the first time since his surgery! We wanted to start taking him last week, but we didn't get our flea and tick medication until this week. Now that he has taken it, he can freely go to the dog park without any problems!

He had such a great time, and he was so worn out after being there for about an hour and a half.

Talking about our Next Trip

This is always exciting for me to talk about. While I have a big trip in the Fall, I always try to go on shorter trips throughout the year. Me & J have been in talks about where we're going to go, and will be booking it in the next couple of days. I'll share more when it's official.

Got send a physical book from an Author

Another highlight of the week is the fact that Elliot Fletcher personally sent me a copy of her book! I was a beta reader for her book Whisky Business, and it was so much fun. I had never done that before, and it was cool to be involved in the book process in that way. Not only that, but I got to know Elliot more throughout the whole thing.

As a thank you, she sent me a copy of her book! I was so pleasantly surprised, and felt beyond grateful. I also bought a copy of her book for my friend (to still support her). I have never gotten a free physical copy of a book from an author or publishing company, so this gift is extra special to me. I highly recommend checking her, and her new book out!

I loved it! I heard they might do a spin-off, and I hope they only do it if it's going to be as good as this series. I don't want them to ruin it! I'm planning on rewatching it soon too, it's just such a feel good. And thank you! xx
