Fridaze 040

Hey guys, welcome back to another Fridaze. I was midway through another favorites of 2022 post, and never got around to finishing it, so expect it sometime next week. While my week wasn't overly busy, I had Luca (my puppy) at my house all week, and he's an exhausting pup to keep an eye on all day 24/7. He actually turned 6 months last weekend, which was super exciting. He's growing up so quickly!

Let's chat about what I did the rest of the week.

Anniversary Dinner

I mentioned in last week's Fridaze that my anniversary just came around. Last Saturday we decided to officially celebrate. We went to this kinda pricy, yet super delicious restaurant. We went once with his family for his mom's birthday, and I remembered the food being delicious.

This time around, I would say I loved the experience much more. The service was good, the location was beautiful, my meal was delicious, and I honestly had such an amazing time. We went to 618 in Freehold, NJ (just in case anyone who lives around me are interested). I highly recommend it, and if you're a drinker, please please get their espresso martini (the pistachio is super yummy)!

Erika

One of the highlights of my week is the fact that I got to see my best friend, Erika! I hadn't in seen her in a while, so we went to a Mexican restaurant near us, and caught each other up in both of our lives. I missed her so much, and I'm definitely going to make it a point to see her more often. I know life happens, but I definitely am going to prioritize my friendships, and this one in particular.

Received my first ARC

This was another bit of exciting fun. I started a bookstagram back in July, and I've had so much fun with it. This past weekend, I got my first ARC (advanced readers copy). It's Sink or Sell by Margaret Rose. I wrote my review on Goodreads & Instagram, if you're interested. The book was actually a great read (4 stars), and it was just a really cool experience. While I don't like every book, I appreciate people who write in general. For her to allow me to read her book, so I can give my thoughts is very special to me.

After this experience, I think I want to make it a point to try to get at least 5 ARCs this year. I already got another one through NetGalley, which is pretty exciting!

Made some big adulting decisions

After going back and for with J a bit, we have some major changes coming soon. I don't want to share too much at the moment, but I'm really excited for this new chapter in my life. I'm also really nervous, but the excitement overpowers it a bit. Can't wait to share more in the future!

  • Emily in Paris [Netflix]
  • The Mole [Netflix]
  • The Sinner Season 4 [Netflix]

It sounds like you celebrated your 1-year anniversary in style!

Congrats on your first ARC copy! I've read a fair few books that I didn't particularly enjoy but I appreciate people that can write books as you said, because of how much goes into the process. xx

Espresso martinis are SO delicious – I'm glad you had a wonderful anniversary dinner! And, yes to prioritising friendships. Life is very busy but I love the feeling after seeing your closest friends.
