2022 Project Pan

I've never done a Project Pan before, but after reading Hannah's post, I decided to give it a go this year! For those of you that don't know, a project pan is a yearly project where you focus on using up at least 10 items. Since Covid went down in 2020, I've slowed down my purchases of makeup a lot.

Instead, I've been working on using up some of my collection.

I know we're already a month into the year, but I wanted to share with you the products I've been focusing on finishing! Once I finish a product, I'm going to replace it with another product I want to focus on using up. Let's get into what I'm going to try to pan!

1. Jeffree Star x Morphe Set & Refresh Mist

I no longer support Jeffree Star, but even when I did, I was not a fan of this setting spray. It's really heavily fragranced, and tends to dry my skin out. Since the can isn't see through, I don't really know how much product I have left, but I'm hoping to finish this one soon. I really want to finish this product, so I can move on to a setting spray I love!

2. Colourpop Supershock Highlighter Wisp

I cannot say enough good things about this product! While I really love this product, and highly recommend it, I have other highlights that I want to use up!

3. Benefit Hoola Bronzer

This one might be a hard one to pan. Firstly, it takes forever to use up a bronzer, especially a powder bronzer. Secondly, since I've converted to cream bronzers, I really haven't touch a lot of my powder bronzers (except the Hourglass one). My goal it to finish up this product, so I think I'm going to use it as a bronzer, and as a eyeshadow!

4. Colourpop Precision Brow Pencil

I used to like this one, because it was a good match to my hair color, but since I've moved on to the Glossier Brow Flick, I haven't used anything else! I'm honestly already almost done with this product, so I think this will be an easy product to use.

5. Mini Milk Makeup Kush Mascara

I don't know if Mini's count, but I really want to use this product up! This mascara used to be my favorite mascara, but for some reason this mascara was running all over my face this summer! Now that it's winter, I think I'll be able to finish this up without any problems.

6. Wet N Wild Cream Bronzer Stick

Now I bought this product, hoping it was going to be a dupe for the Nudestix cream bronzers. That was not the case. While I don't hate the product, the shade is a little too warm for my liking. On top of that, it doesn't blend nearly as well as the Nudestix one did. I already know that once I finish these bronzers up, I really want to get the Makeup by Mario cream bronzer sticks! I've heard nothing but good things about them. But first, I have to finish the Wet N Wild one.

7. Milk Hydro Grip Primer

I don't have anything bad to say about this primer at all! It keeps my make up on all day, and I used to be obsessed with this primer. It's almost done, and I just want to finish it up. It's not as hydrating as some of the primers I'm now using, but I have nothing but good things to say about it.

8. Victoria's Secret Shimmer Lotion

Now this product I'm not a fan of. When I was younger, I used to really like their lotions. While they have really good fragrances, they put way too much alcohol/fragrance in their lotions! They don't really moisturize my skin well. I have to put on too much product to even get slightly moisturized. I've been working my way through this one (it was a gift), and my goal is to finish this one soon!

9. Laniege Water Sleeping Mask [Lavender]

This was a gift, and I absolutely love the product! I'm just really bad at rotating products in my skincare routine. I think this will be an easy product to use up, mainly cause I'll use this one as my nightly moisturizer instead of the one I'm currently using!

10. Dominique Cosmetics Strawberry Lemonade Lipgloss

I don't know why, but I have such problems finishing up lip products! This is a product I've been working on finishing for a little bit now. I'm finally starting to be able to see through the tube in some areas, so I should be finishing this one up soon! I actually have another Dominique Cosmetics Gloss that I want to start using once this one is up.

I will say, I love her glosses, they're juicy, not overly tacky, and feel hydrating on the lips!

Once I finish both of her glosses, I definitely want to try the Merit Lip Oils that Jamie Paige raves about (first I have to use up some of my current lip products).

Now this is my project pan line up! I feel like I have a good amount of products from different categories. I've been watching Cleia do project pans on and off throughout my blogging journey, and the key to this is to have many products in different categories. I think the powders are going to be the hardest to get through, especially that Hoola Bronzer!

Have you ever done a Project Pan before? How did it go for you? As always, thank you for reading! Sending you love, strength, and positivity xxx

Project Pan is such a wonderful way to learn more about one's beauty favorites, inclinations, and staples! I find the project always leaves me with a much smaller collection of items and highlights noticeable trends across what I use. 🙂

That's exactly why I started one! Even though I used up a lot of product during the lockdowns (mainly cause when I did use up makeup, I didn't end up buying more), I wanted to keep it up and continue to make my collection smaller! Wish me luck 🙂 Thanks for reading and commenting xx

I’m glad you learned about something new! I’m trying to lean away from the over commercialism of purchasing too many beauty products, and this is a good way to focus on a few! Thanks so much for reading 🙂

Ah, I'm so excited to know you're doing a project pan too! We've totally got this, we can do it. I totally agree that bronzers are hard to get through, they seem to last forever. That lipgloss looks like such a lovely colour, and it's fab that it sounds like you're close to finishing it!xx

I've never heard of a Project Pan before so this was an education; I really like the idea of using things up though, that's a nice sustainable practice!

Project Pans were really popular around 2015-2016, but with people consuming less beauty products overall, and like I said I'm trying to use up my collection, I thought this would be a good way to focus on some products! Thanks so much for reading and commenting 🙂 x

I feel like 2015 was right before the huge increase in beauty consumerism! After covid (and even a little beforehand), I was just getting tired of purchasing so many products (many that were starting to look the same). Since then I've been really working on using up products in my collection! Thanks so much for reading and commenting 🙂 xxx
