Fridaze 069

Happy Fridaze! I've missed chatting with you all. I don't have a good excuse except for the fact that life got ahead of me. With the exception of changing my site's logo, I haven't really done anything relating to my blog recently.

Today, I did have the chance to go read all of my friend's blogs and do a huge catch up, which is always really nice.

Typically when I spend so much time away from the blog, I like to do a big catch up, but this time, I'm just going to stick to the highlights. So grab a cup of coffee or tea (I'm currently drinking a homemade brown sugar & cinnamon latte), and let's chat!

TTPD

Happy The Tortured Poets Department release to all that celebrate! I didn't know how I was going to feel about the album before it was released. I was so pleasantly surprised, and I honestly loved it from the first listen. The music and lyrics are so pretty. It makes me feel so many different things while listening, and I'm just so happy we have 31 new songs to enjoy.

My current favorite TTPD songs (in no order)

  1. Fortnight
  2. The Tortured Poets Department
  3. down bad
  4. so long, london
  5. guilty as sin?
  6. Who's afraid of little old me
  7. I can do it with a broken heart
  8. the bolter
  9. the black dog
  10. the albatross

friend catch ups

Even though I've had a much needed slower month, I still made the time to see some of my close friends this month. Both times my friends came over and we sat on the couch chatting about anything and everything for hours. Time flew by, and I just really needed that.

I don't know why, but in the winter I have trouble connecting with people. Even though I make it a point to catch up with my close friends as often as I can, I still feel very distant. It's a little hard to explain, but I just feel a disconnect with them. It probably has something to do with the SAD I struggle with, but now that the sun's been out, I don't feel that way, which is always a relief!

making changes to the apartment

Me and J recently re-signed our lease, and I felt like it was time to make some updates! I changed our duvet cover to a beautiful linen one. I added another bookshelf (I could not be more happy about this one). We added a coat rack at our entrance. I also made a few other small changes.

I really want to get a new rug for our bedroom, so I'll probably do that in the next month or two! Our place feels so homey, and like a good blend of the both of our personalities, I love it so much.

going through my physical tbr slowly but surely

Since I got a second bookshelf, I reorganized my books, and what I've noticed is that I have a lot of physical tbr books. I mean a lot. So I've made it a point to read at least 1-2 physical books every month! This past month I read The Final Offer by Lauren Asher & Love Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood. Next month, I think I'm going to add Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan, finish off the tandem read by SJM, and Legendary by Stephanie Garber. Let's see how far many of these I actually end of finishing!

lil things:

  • Enjoying the Fallout show so much, deciding to play Fallout 4 (I played the third one, but never the most recent game!)
  • Sitting on my balcony with a blanket and a good book.
  • getting a new duvet cover, and being completely obsessed with them (got these ones from Quince)

  • Stardew Valley [PC]
  • Fallout 4 [PC]
  • Dave the Diver [PC]

Shows/Movies I’ve Watched:

  • One Piece - Water 7 arc [Hulu]
  • Dune Part 2
  • Fallout [Amazon Prime]

  • Iris Zero 7 by Takana Hotaru
  • The Emperor (Darkverse #3) by RuNyx
  • The Final Offer by Lauren Asher (Dreamland Billionaires #3)
  • Heartstopper #4 by Alice Oseman
  • Manacled Volume 1 by SenLinYu

I know it's been a while since I've written, and this one is kind of short, but hopefully you'll hear from me soon! Tell me what you have been up to over the past few weeks! Read/watch anything good? Maybe a good recipe to share? Share with me down below!

I too have been in my full TTPD mode! Whenever someone mentions TTPD, I can't help but get super excited haha! It's like the highlight of my Q2. Anyway, I've been making some really fun plans lately, including a little home renovation project! <3

Welcome back to the blogging world! I am truly in my TTPD era, it’s definitely an album made for the long-term fans, the readers and the writers. I take away something new from it every time I listen – pure magic.

I think many of us can probably relate to not feeling up for socialising throughout winter. It’s still incredibly gloomy in England, and I’m still not really making many plans, haha.

Thank you! It feels really good to be back. I'm so glad you love the album, I'm so obsessed. And I'm so glad she officially added songs to the Eras tour! I'm going to see her in November, and could not be more excited.

We've had a lot of really warm and sunny days, and then lots of rain for days later. May is the time plans start picking up for me, so I'm enjoying the slowness of these early May days right now xx

I totally get what you mean with the friend thing. I try as much as my mental health allows me to to catch up with friends, but I always feel like my efforts are lacking and I feel left out a lot. 🙁 Our circle of friends have a lot of May babies, though, so I hope I can use this month to bond with everyone. 🙂

How was Brooklyn Nine Nine for you!? I'd say this is my favorite sitcom, so I might cry if you didn't like it (lol, kidding!). 😀

So nice to meet you and I'm glad I stumbled upon your blog, Melina! 🙂

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way! I hope you have a great time hanging out with friends this month 🙂

OMG, I love it! I'm currently on season 5, and I don't remember the last time I loved a sitcom this much! I think it's a close second to Friends in terms of near and dear to my heart.

And omg welcome! I'm so glad you found my blog, and also decided to leave such a thoughtful comment 🙂 xx

Thank you! I was trying to match the vibe of my current blog layout, while also making it a lil' unique. My other close option was super fun, and I keep thinking of going to the other one, but I think this one fits better. And omg even I surprise myself by how much I read, aha! xx
