I was born and raised in Chicago and fell in love with snow when I was a child and had to walk the snowy roads to school, I went to a private school and no bus came to my neighborhood so we always walked even on snowy days! Snow is so magical! I miss it. Now that I live in the South we never get snow and when we do people go crazy down here! haha ♥

We haven’t had any major snowfall in England this winter, and I usually love it for all the same reasons as you’ve mentioned.

I think my perfect winter’s day looks like my favourite British countryside vista, blanketed in tufts of snow. I can wrap up warm in snug jumpers, thermals, cosy leggings and a matching scarf-hat-mittens set, and head out for the morning dog walk with a Thermos of hot chocolate in hand. Afterwards, we’d return home and put the fire on, light candles, draw out the big blankets. I could read for a few hours and bake comforting food – like, a pie or something?! – and hunker down at home. It’s so rare that we can just down tools and stay home, lately, and I’m really sick of having to go out when it’s drizzling rain outdoors.
