In reply to alwayscleia. Yes, i felt like I was crazy for gaining all this weight while eating healthier and exercising regularly! I've come to realize that the number on the scale means nothing. Muscle weighs more than fat, and on top of that, it's all about how you feel about yourself, not necessarily if you're skinny or a size 0 or 00! In reply to Melina Elisa. That’s crazy! I’m french so I guess that could be why it was different for me, but all my doctors I went to told me that I could struggle with my weight because of the pill. Actually, the first one that was prescribed to me made me gain weight and so we changed right away only a couple of months afterwards. It seems that the last one I had wasn’t the cause of my weight gain, but it definitely prevented me to loose weight... I have an IUD now and even though I was anxious about it, I’m so glad I changed for a hormone free device

I couldn't believe that my doctor shrugged me off when I mentioned the fact that I thought I was gaining weight because of my pill. I'm so happy that you are also losing weight! I've read sooo many accounts of birth control pills causing weight gain, I'm glad that switching back to your previous one has helped! I'm so scared to change anything about mine for the same reason. I love that you're more focused on a healthier lifestyle than just the number on the scale, because that number means literally nothing! It doesn't tell you if you've gained muscle mass from exercise or even if you're healthy, but it's so easy to obsess over numbers. I'm so happy for you getting to a place where you feel more comfortable and are happy with where you're at!

What an inspiring story! When I got diagnosed with MS I gained almost 90 lbs in three months... I used to be so healthy (140lbs for 5’6), I ran 5 miles 3 times a week, and now I can't even run 5 minutes anymore. I just couldn't loose the weight, but one month ago I went to the doctor to change my means of contraception. It really is changing my life :) I'm not under birth control anymore, and I've already lost a few pounds. Thank you for sharing :)

In reply to K.M. Sutton. Thank you so much for reading and commenting! I felt so crazy when I first mentioned to my doctor that it was the pill. Especially when she quickly dismissed me! I'm glad I went with my gut and switch it for something else.
